REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor the mixer will perform all duties required to maintain the highest quality product while minimizing production cost and risks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tends machines and equipment that automatically mix ingredients to make straight dough’s according to formula: Moves controls and turns valves to adjust metering devices that weigh, measure, sift, and convey water, flour, and shortening into mixer, and that measure and dump yeast, vitamins, sugar, salt, and other ingredients into mixing machine.
Prepares ingredients in the mixing area per established checklist and schedule; this includes weighing, measuring, verification of proper ingredients. Also includes open all cases, bags, and boxes of ingredients.
Operates mixer per established operation and safety procedures; verifies correct amount and ingredients are placed inside of mixer. Reports any variance in machine operation or Safety Procedures to Supervisor.
Examine contents and compare with records, to verify accuracy of contents, lot numbers, temperature and quantity.
Prepare documents, minor ingredient logs, mix sheets and related documentation. Assure that all incoming materials are labeled appropriately.
Verify usage data, such as weight, quantity, Unit of Measure on the required documents, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
Mixer will ensure daily and other documentation standards are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain work area and tools to a high standard of cleanliness.
Assist in the training of mixing area helpers and / or assistant mixers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work any shift, ability to stand or walk for extended periods, will require occasional overtime.
Ability to move up and down building stairways and ladders in a multi-level plant to reach job assignments and perform the tasks required in mixing area. Tasks require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting.
Physical strength to handle heavy or bulky packages. Capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects, equipment, supplies and ingredients.

SHIFT HOURS: 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm
PURPOSE:
To accurately prepare and properly mix the various batters, icings, fillings and crusts used to create Sweet Street products. The major end results of the job are products that look and taste consistent with the standards established with the original formulas. This position is expected to be able to mix any of the formulas for the product line.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Order necessary ingredients and in correct quantities as needed from scaling.
- Mix ingredients using machines, properly timing and monitoring for quality.

- Coordinate completion of mixed items with depositors.
- Spot check all scaled ingredients.
