RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Description
The Senior Architectural and Structural Estimator (SASE) is responsible for all bid pricing except for General Conditions (Division 1), site work (Division 2) and process/equipment (Divisions 11 and 13). The SASE creates complete estimates for R.H. White Construction's self-performed work, mainly concrete construction, and general carpentry. The SASE also solicits and reviews all subcontractor and vendor quotes for the specifications of work that fall under their jurisdiction.
Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
Works independently and as an active team leader to plan and create detailed, clearly defined, and accurate project estimates.
Assign bid responsibilities to team members.
Attend pre-bid meetings to obtain project requirements and objectives.

Handling the project from first estimate all the way through subcontracts being formalized.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Take off quantities of materials from blueprints in preparation of job estimates. Extend and check unit prices of bid items. Assist subcontractors with resolving questions, and/or providing direction on how to price specific items. Receive and bid level sub-bid prices. Examine field conditions for proposed job location. Prepare building estimate square footage , unit and/or assembly price analysis. Set up bid workbook / excel spreadsheet file, review printout to insure data is correct.
Responsible for managing all bid documents (blueprints, digital, etc.). Includes ordering / printing hard copies when requested, posting documents online, ensuring easy online access and directions for subcontractors, Also includes managing all updates / addenda / revisions and ensuring that appropriate parties are advised of such changes.

Research and report economic and market data used in predicting future construction prices. This includes building cost indexes and input costs such as commodities, energy and labor indexes.
Capable of using computers and the necessary software required by the position, such as ProEst, BuildingConnected, Word, Excel, OneNote, Adobe Acrobat / Bluebeam and other similar online take-off software tools. Ability to learn new software applicable to this position.
