    Responsible for building and/or repairing all types, sizes and shapes of fixtures, jigs and tooling. Duties and Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints or work from verbal or written instructions. • Produce jigs and assembly fixtures and tooling with no instruction for use with surgical instrumentation and implants. • Responsible for training new Toolmakers and Apprentices. • Set-up & Operate CNC machining centers as well as manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, and other tool room equipment as necessary. • Responsible for ensuring all assigned fixtures, assemblies, and tools are inspected to print and all documentation is recorded to department procedures. • Troubleshoot problems associated with equipment, fixtures, jigs, tooling and related processes. Also responsible for re-work or repair of all fixturing. • Complete required preventative maintenance on equipment. • Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment. • Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury. • Responsible to comply with company requirements and complete essential documentation as required. • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge & Skill Requirements: • A proven track record in processing, programming and setup of CNC machines. • Ability to adjust tools and other machine components, adjust the position of work piece or material, set controls, and verify accuracy of machine capabilities, properties of materials, and shop practices. • Must be able to use tools, equipment, and work aids, such as precision gauges and measuring instruments to determine the quality of a part or program. • Demonstrated competency in various materials, tooling and processes. • Have excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, team environment. • Must be able to gather information on job processes and report back to management with process improvements. • Must possess strong math skills in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. • Must possess advanced manual programming and advanced blueprint reading skills, including GD&T. • Technical School certificate/degree preferred. Minimum Requirements: • Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal stamping environment preferred. • Basic understanding of tooling, die setup, or mechanical systems. • Ability to read and understand blueprints and die drawings (preferred, not required). • Strong mechanical aptitude with good problem-solving and communication skills. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. • Willingness to learn and assist Tool & Die Makers as part of a team.
