Duties and responsibilities:

Analysis, design, inspection of transportation structures, asset management, and other transportation projects
Structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials
Prestressed concrete analysis and design
Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed
Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
Calculate construction quantity estimates
Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
Office construction administration including review of shop drawings and technical submittals
Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports

Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil engineering with a Structural Emphasis
Must be a rising Junior in your Bachelor's degree program
A Master's degree student is preferred
Working towards an EIT certification
At least one previous related internship preferred but not required
Ability to perform field investigations
Any experience in finite element analysis, AutoCAD, or consulting a plus

**Pay Range:**

Your Opportunity
As an Environmental Scientist, you will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and diverse projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior professional. You will implement project tasks on a multitude of environmental assessment and remediation projects on a wide variety of commercial and industrial sites.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Works with environmental team in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior professional.
- Performs field work as directed by a senior environmental scientist or engineer.
- Assists with basic environmental assessment and remediation duties on projects of various complexity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the senior environmental services staff.
- Providing environmental monitoring services on projects
- Assist with onsite construction observation, contractor coordination, and daily inspection reports.
- Assist with the review of contractor submittals, respond to inquiries from the contractors.
- Able to liaise between clients, contractors, municipal officials and third parties on-site.
- Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required).
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Basic understanding of environmental assessment and remediation services.
- Capable or willing to learn to implement field work such as groundwater monitoring and soil sampling.
- Willingness to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions for multiple day projects.
- Willingness to travel away from home for multiple day projects
- Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Ability to perform construction observation and coordinate with Contractors.
- Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner, both in writing and in person, with clients, employees and visitors.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's in environmental science or environmental engineering. 6 months of experience in environmental services field or equivalent.
This is primarily a field work position and includes exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Some office work required, typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas-$57,900.00 - $81,100.00 Annually
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
