Summary
Position Highlights:
Dr. Xuefeng Wang's Lab at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center-an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and one of the nation's top-ranked cancer research institutes-is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow. The fellow will contribute to cutting-edge projects in bioinformatics, cancer genomics, and AI-driven biomarker discovery. This position offers interdisciplinary training in both computational and translational oncology, with resources and supervision provided jointly by the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics and the Department of Genitourinary Oncology. The position will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities:
* Discover and validate new predictive biomarkers using large-scale cancer omics datasets, including single-cell and spatial omics data.
* Develop and extend computational, statistical and machine learning methods to advance cancer clinical and translational research.
* Design and implement novel visualizing too to facilate interpretation of complex omics results.
* Collaborate with clinicians and scientists across GU Oncology and Biostatistics & Bioinformatics.
Credentials and Qualifications:
Required: PhD in Bioinformatics, Statistics/Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields.
Preferred:
* Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and R.
* Research background in machine learning.
* Experience of processing and integration of multi-omics data including whole exome sequencing, RNA-seq, metabolomics, proteomics, etc.

Summary
Postdoctoral Fellow - Focus on Metabolic Regulators of Cancer Epigenetics.
The current focus of the Bonini laboratory is on metabolic drivers of chromatin remodeling including but not limited to reactive oxygen species, nucleophiles and thiols. We use multidisciplinary approaches including biosensor technologies, chemogenic systems, genetic engineering, cell culture, organoid and animal models to understand how metabolism-driven posttranslational modifications of histones and histone modifiers alters chromatin structure influencing cancer cell fate decisions, drug resistance and metastasis. The laboratory is also interested in metabolic and microenvironmental drivers of tumor cell heterogeneity and how it relates to epigenetic plasticity and remodeling.
Position Highlights:
* The Bonini Lab fosters an interdisciplinary approach using redox biology technologies, metabolomics, novel mouse models, and biosensors to identify mechanisms underlying cancer progression using cell cultures, patient-relevant in vitro and in vivo models. This position will focus on metabolic drivers of chromatin organization relevant for tumor cell fate specification (See our recent publications Palma, et. al. (2024) Cell Reports; Gantner, et. al. (2024) Trends Cancer. Our laboratory is currently funded by grants awarded from the National Institutes of Health.

Seeking a Fishery Restoration Scientist to support NOAA Fisheries in executing analytical, technical, and field-related tasks across multiple habitat conservation and environmental review programs. This position will work closely with the NOAA Project Lead (PL) to evaluate project impacts, conduct habitat analyses, support regulatory reviews, and develop high-quality technical deliverables. The work will be performed in a fully remote capacity, with only a limited possibility of occasional travel within the east coast regions of Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia.
The task includes the following:
* Review study objectives developed by the Southeast Region and project partners, identify optimal field study locations, manage partner-provided datasets, develop associated metadata, and recommend practicable refinements to future field efforts. Deliver short technical reports and data files and incorporate all NOAA PL comments into final documentation.
* Analyze project-specific data to evaluate compliance with hydropower facility license conditions, with particular attention to fish passage and flow prescriptions. Deliver concise written reports for each facility and revise final documentation in response to NOAA PL comments.
* Assess effects to Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) and evaluate proposed mitigative measures for offshore wind energy projects using data provided. Prepare short written reports and develop briefing materials suitable for NOAA senior leadership summarizing project objectives, expected impacts, benefits, and anticipated schedules. Address all NOAA PL comments in final deliverables.
* Review dredging operation data and coral condition information for the Port Everglades and Port Miami project areas. Evaluate potential effects to coral habitat, recommend mitigation measures to offset expected impacts, and deliver a written report containing habitat characterizations and supporting GIS files with appropriate metadata and Google Earth files. Address all NOAA PL comments in final documentation.
* Conduct EFH, Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act (FWCA), and Fish and Wildlife Planning Assistance (FPA) analyses for proposed construction and restoration projects. Maintain a current understanding of diadromous, estuarine, and reef fish habitats, key environmental pressures, and conservation partnerships across Southeast U.S. watersheds. Use GIS to prepare maps and manage spatial data for analysis, and produce written reports and briefing materials with complete responses to NOAA PL comments.
* Submit electronic monthly progress reports that clearly correlate cost, level of effort, activity descriptions, and accomplishments for the reporting period.
Requirements
* Knowledge of fish and habitat ecology, environmental conservation principles, and habitat impact assessment methodologies.
* Experience conducting data analysis, preparing technical summaries, and managing fisheries or environmental datasets.
* Experience using GIS software for spatial analysis, map production, and metadata development.
* Familiarity with EFH assessments, environmental review processes, and habitat-based conservation strategies within marine or estuarine systems.
* Ability to write clear, concise technical reports and prepare briefing materials for senior decision-makers.
* Strong proficiency with common software including word processing, spreadsheets, statistical tools, data management applications, and the entire Google suite.
* Ability to collaborate with partners, manage multiple ongoing tasks, and respond to technical comments with accuracy and completeness.

Salary
The salary range for this role is $46,000 - 221,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. This position is responsible for performing and developing testing, processes, troubleshooting, and investigation related to cellular therapy and manufactured biologics. Duties and projects may relate to products intended for research, commercial, and clinical use.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
- Collaborate closely with the Cellular Therapy and Laboratory departments to develop and optimize procedures related to cellular therapy product production and testing
- Assist with development and performance of basic manufacturing activities and operating equipment
- Perform isolation and purification of cells and cellular components from tissues and blood
- Coordinate and plan the preparation of cells and tissues for testing by flow cytometry or other analysis as needed
- Meticulously maintain facility records, batch records, and process/system records as required throughout the manufacturing process according to Good Documentation Practice (GDP) standards
- Ensure finished substance/ product and all intermediates follow applicable regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, cGMPs, cGTPs), Through strict adherence to manufacturing controls
- Adhere to all policies, document all quality control activities, and ensure that instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance is performed in accordance with approval policies and procedures
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results
- Document all corrective action taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
- Participate in packaging and presentation of data in both written and/or oral formats (such as peer-reviewed publications and regional/national conferences)
- Exercise professional judgment in evaluation, specimen integrity, results accuracy, and inter-result validity and take corrective action as necessary. Such corrective action can include, but is not limited to: specimen rejection, recollection, and/or retesting using the same or alternate methods and/or utilizing other skills to ensure validity and accuracy of testing at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical or Biological Science
- One year of laboratory experience
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and FDA guidance applicable to biologics and cell therapy manufacturing
- Technical writing capability
- Experience or understanding of the following areas is required: Aseptic processing in ISO 5 biosafety cabinets, Universal precautions for handling human derived materials in BSL-2 containment areas, Cell expansion using incubators, Cell washing processes and automated equipment, Cell separation techniques and automated equipment, Cryopreservation processes and equipment
- Understanding of cell/tissue culture techniques including media production selection/isolation, activation/initiation, transduction, de-bead (if applicable), expansion, harvest, and cryopreservation
- Scientific and technical knowledge from current sources, such as the AABB/FACT/NETCORD Standards and relevant guidance related to FDA, CLIA, and CMA, both state and federal
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations and voluntary accrediting standards related to the operation of clinical laboratories and blood banks
- Knowledge of laboratory processes, inventory requirements, and quality systems
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Master's Degree
- National certification such as MLS (ASCP or AMT) or CABP from AABB
- Two to four years of lab experience in cellular testing
