The Mechanic Class A - Residence Halls will be responsible for maintenance services in the university residence halls. Essential Functions Maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing fixtures and hardware, such as: faucets, drains, showers, manual and automatic flushometers, sinks, water closets, urinals, valves, and piping. Performing general repair tasks, including: ceiling repair, door repair, installing hardware, lamp replacement, and light fixture repair. Clearing and unclogging drains and repairing leaks. Reading and interpreting mechanical plans and prints. Completing daily work order assignments under minimum supervision. Working at heights greater than 10 feet from ladders, scaffold and lift equipment. Wearing of respiratory protective equipment (annual pulmonary fit test required).
