Responsibilities/Qualifications Technical Customer Support 1 - Temporary will be responsible for providing initial response and technical troubleshooting for customer-related issues. Responsibilities include taking initial customer calls, providing technical support, and advancing the issue to the next escalation tier as necessary. The role also involves opening, tracking, and closing trouble tickets, ensuring accurate documentation, preparing and distributing metrics reports and participating in departmental projects. This role could extend for up to a year and has potential for being hired full time. Essential Duties Customer Interaction & Information Gathering Answer incoming calls from customers. Collect required details and ask guided questions using documented procedures. Provide basic updates to customers on issue status when appropriate. Ticket & Queue Management Create, update, and close support tickets with accurate, clear notes. Manage ticket queues and multiple technical support mailboxes. Work tickets to resolution within defined service level objectives (SLOs) and with a strong sense of urgency. Document actions taken and observations during troubleshooting. Technical Troubleshooting & Escalation Perform technical troubleshooting and problem-solving using step-by-step guides and knowledge articles. Use internal tools to check system status and alarms as trained. Resolve issues independently when possible; escalate promptly when resolution cannot be achieved. Escalate urgent or high-impact issues immediately according to procedures. Process Compliance & Collaboration Follow established support processes, escalation paths, and security requirements. Maintain shared support inboxes and route requests to the appropriate team. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, shadowing opportunities, and special projects as needed. Administrative & Reporting Assist with routine reporting, data entry, and metrics tracking. Support basic administrative or departmental tasks as assigned. Education High school diploma or GED required. Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Networking or Computer Science preferred Experience & Skills 1+ year of customer service experience required, preferably in a helpdesk environment Working knowledge of standard computer applications and operating systems Exposure to troubleshooting is a plus, including familiarity with SIP protocols, Linux systems, basic networking concepts, and active directory Experience with remote support a plus! POSITION SUMMARY This position is a part-time assignment, created to meet the instructional needs of the department in the following content areas: * Computer Information System * Computer Networking * Computer Science * Computer Web-based Our part-time instructors teach introductory (1000-level) and intermediate (2000-level) courses for transfer, as well as terminal degree/certificate pathways. Class assignments may include teaching day and/or evening classes in different modalities (face-to-face, online or hybrid). Duties and Responsibilities * Develop lesson plans, activities, and assessments that lead students to the successful attainment of identified course competencies with assistance from the Department Chair/Lead Faculty. * Evaluate student performance in accordance with student learning outcomes as stated in the course syllabus. * Teach assigned classes in keeping with community college philosophy. * Be knowledgeable about pedagogy, methods, retention, inclusion, and assessment of outcomes (or be available and willing to receive training in these areas) * One week prior to the first day of class, provide the Department Chair/ Lead Faculty with a copy of the course syllabus for review. * On the first day of class, provide students with a syllabus for the course that includes all components of the course model syllabus and the competencies established in the Colorado Common Course Numbering System (CCNS). * Conduct student evaluations of instruction in accordance with established policies and procedures at the end of the semester. * Maintain accurate records of attendance and grading of students in the college learning management system-Desire2Learn (D2L)-and submit required records according to published instructions and deadlines. * Attend required department/faculty meetings. * Complete the mandatory trainings - D2L, New Faculty and Instructor Orientation, and Web Accessibility. Instructors must also complete the Foundations of Online Teaching and Learning training to be eligible for teaching online courses. * Participate in coaching/mentoring and assessment initiatives established by Department Chair/Lead Faculty. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field from an accredited college/university, AND Three years of experience working in a technology job (IT support, computer hardware, computer networks and cybersecurity), OR * Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field from an accredited college/university.
