Your responsibilities will include:

Making determinations regarding fabrication and design of detail parts such as fittings, stops, locating pins, and mechanical operation of jigs and submitting them for approval to proper personnel
Laying out jig and fixture parts for subsequent machining operations
Setting up on surface table or tooling docks such jigs and fixtures as master inspection gauges, involving complex contours, compound angles, and requiring the coordination of drill holes and location of critical points to all reference lines

Who You Are
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced jig and fixture builder with a strong knowledge of machine shop theory and practice, and jig and fixture building. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, and the ability to use shop mathematics including trigonometry.

Basic Qualifications
1. Three years of experience as a Jig & Fixture Builder. A maximum of six months credit towards the three-year requirement above may be given to an employee who has satisfactorily completed a Tool Maker-Trainee program.
OR
2. Completion of a high quality industrial based Jig & Fixture Builder Apprenticeship program. Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT) Certified Apprenticeship programs are typically 8,000 hours in duration. (NOTE: LMASC had a certified one of 6,000 hours which was an exception.)
OR
3. Completion of a high quality industrial based Jig & Fixture Builder Training program. These programs should be typically 6,000 - 8,000 hours in duration and be similar in curriculum and standards as 2 above.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. National Pay Statement
The base range for this position in California is $28.24 - 45.43.

The Injection Mold Operator will operate both low- and high-pressure injection-molding machines to produce ceramic cores in accordance with the standard operating procedure.
Available Shifts:
1st Shift - M-F 7a-3:30p
- $16-$17/hr., depending upon experience.
2nd Shift - M-F 3:30p-11:30p (paid lunch)
- $16-$17/hr., depending upon experience plus a $1.80/hr. shift diff = $17.80 - $18.80/hr.
3rd Shift - S-Th 11p - 7a (paid lunch)
-$16-$17/hr., depending upon experience plus a $2.50/hr. shift diff = $18.50 - $19.50/hr.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Follow documented job specific work instructions.
Maintain mix level in hopper, prepare die for injection, inject, remove part.
Visually inspect parts and identify defects.
Remove die line from parts.
Load parts in containers (saggers) according to procedure.
Maintain required documentation and paperwork.
Produce quality ceramic cores; meeting production goals and quality requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 5S activity.
Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations.
Education, prior work experience, specialized skills and knowledge required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Good communication skills
High attention to detail to monitor for defects
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent attendance & dependability a must
Physical requirements:
Ability to stand entire 8 or 10 hour shift (plus overtime, when required)

Physically and/or visually inspect and evaluate parts for conformance and quality based on established criteria and specifications as notated in process books.
Execute any pre- or post-molding secondary operations including trimming.
Measure and/or gauge components to ensure each is within specification.
Trim and de-flash excess material from part using razor knife or specialty cutters.
Operation of any secondary/auxiliary equipment including arbor presses and propane torches.
Observe continuous operation of machines to detect jams or malfunctions.
Manually pack parts into various sized containers.
