Shift & Hours:

1st - Monday through Friday 6am-2:30pm $15.50

2nd - Monday through Friday 2pm-10:30pm $15.50 + $0.75 shift differential

3rd - Sunday through Thursday 10pm-6:30am $15.50 + $1.50 shift differential

Location: Hodges, SC

Hoffer Plastics is hiring for "Mold Maker / Mold Repair", "1st shift".

Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.

The Mold Maker / Mold Repair position is responsible for performing mold repair and modifications as directed to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to plastic injection molds.
• Modify and repair molds, jigs and fixtures where accuracy requires maintenance of extremely close tolerances.
• Diagnose problems and determine corrective actions on injection molds.
• Ability to grind complex forms to very close tolerances.
• Ability to complete jobs quickly and efficiently with minimal errors.
• Maintain safe work area in neat and orderly manner.
• Accurately document work performed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; TMA certificate preferred.
• 5+ years of experience including extensive knowledge of mold function and repair in a plastic injection environment.
• 2+ years of experience with hot runner function, trouble shooting and repair.
• Ability to perform multiple functions including EDM, Jig Grinding, Lathes, Mills, Grinders, etc.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Previous experience working with CAD specifically Solid works is a plus.

Come join our team as Mold Maker! In this role, you will make repairs to Injection molds by fabricating and machining cavities, cores, inserts, pins, plates and mold components.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Work independently to assess repairs and setup tool room equipment to perform specific tasks Accurately measure mold components using gauges, jo blocks, comparator, micrometers and other measuring devices to determine fit and machining required to accomplish repairs Operate mills, lathes, grinders, EDM equipment both conventional and CNCAdvise supervisor of practical means to accomplish repairs based on assessment of the work required Disassemble tooling and reassemble as required to fit critical components Accomplish assigned repair work in a timely and efficient manner Work within molding and mold prep departments to help repair and assemble tooling Maintain tools and advise supervisor of repairs status and the need for purchased accessories and tooling components Build fixtures, and other devices to support production as required
