About the job
Our Richmond manufacturing facility is adding a 1st shift Polisher to our lineup, and we'd like to hear from you. This position mechanically polishes components to support pump, valve, and PHE products that require 3A surface finish standards. Responsible for completing the daily component unit schedule to meet product and customer requirements.
Hours: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday through Friday, plus overtime as required
Base pay starts at $23.50 per hour (or higher based on experience)
As a part of the team, you will:
Polishes sub components and/or executes the material processing within the facility composed of a limited number of pieces that require basic levels of product and process knowledge.
Perform process setups and value add activities utilizing defined operating parameters, following all documentation to complete daily production demand within assigned team.
Continuously build job knowledge through execution of Standard Operating Procedures.
Develop the department in accordance with the Alfa Laval Production System participating in team performance and improvement meetings.
Observes all company policies.
Executes quality checks and inspections as needed.
Other tasks as may be assigned.
Cross train to support any and all departments or factory demands as needed.
Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using lifts.
What you know
You have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, an ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and preferably prior experience in:
Production or warehouse environment
Use and care of basic production or assembly hand tools and power tools
Fork lift and/or crane operation
Ability to learn and use company system tools effectively
Note: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods of time. The employee is regularly required to use hands to use tools to polish components. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform maintenance and repairs on blow mold machines, bottle trimmers, baggers, debaggers, and conveying machinery.
* Maintain electrical control and power circuitry motors.
* Monitor the performance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and grease/oil equipment as needed.
* Assist and/or install new equipment.
* Assist outside service techs on maintenance to plant facilities.
* Manage the inventory and request for purchase of supplies and parts.
* Perform preventive maintenance and maintain records on all equipment.
* Maintain tools and workplace so the conditions are neat and orderly.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* 1+ years' experience in troubleshooting and repairing control systems - mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic.
* Experience in Plastic Blow Molding or general manufacturing plastic products is preferred.
* Able to perform light administrative duties.
* Ability to use hand tools and small power tools.
* Must be capable of reading, understanding instructions, and have knowledge of basic math skills.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
