Job summary: Set- up and operates compression molding machines and support equipment to make specified components that meet quality standards, design specifications and production requirements.
Essential
Duties/Responsibilities:

• Molding of quality rubber and fabric parts using materials & fabrics inserted into a mold and placed in a heated press line. Understanding of press cycle times and meticulous removal of parts from mold required.
• Facilitates press operations by selecting proper molds, inspecting mold surfaces, sandblasting & cleaning as required and positioning into press plates.
• Uses basic hand tools & measure devices, electric hoist, sand blasters, knives, shears, etc.
• Interpret job paperwork to determine schedule, assembly procedure, process requirements and quality requirements necessary to complete the task accurately and on time.
• Perform computer transactions necessary to reference online documentation, provide production order feedback on time, quantity, scrap, batch control and quality information.
• Accurately completes and forwards job paperwork with appropriate stamps, quantity, date, initials etc., as per work
• Verify accuracy of components issued, job paperwork, attached drawings, router and tool requirements.
• Follows all safety precautions and rules, including wearing protective equipment, as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup and operation of up to 5 compression mold machinery
• Visual inspection of each part using calipers, ohm meters, and gauges.
• Read computerized work instructions.
• Basic troubleshooting to ensure that product is running correctly.
• Clean machinery out after every run and do preventative maintenance.
• Safe and efficient operation of compression molding machines to: produce variety of plastic parts
• Visually inspect parts and separate out defects. Meet or exceed efficiencies quotas.
• Keep workplace clean and orderly utilizing 5S strategies
• Have knowledge of ISO and Aerospace standards - preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work in a face paced environment, meet deadlines and stand for long periods of time. The requirements listed below are representative, but not exclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 plus years previous experience working as a machine operator.
• Must have basic computer skills, data entry is required to track the production floor.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Client is open to machine operators who are motivated to learn new skills.
• Team player.
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and stand for the entire shift.
• Steel toed shoes.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

• Mechanically inclined and self motivated.
• Excellent work ethic and safety minded.
• Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Requires working in ambient air temperature.

1st Shift: Monday - Thursday; 5:00 am - 3:30 pm

FUNCTION:

Responsible for maintaining injection molding processes and performing
part quality inspections.

TASKS:

Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies. Follow and comply
with all safety plant standards.
Monitor the critical elements of Molding processes.
Move materials, finished product, supplies, scrap.
Operate measuring equipment such as comparators, micrometers, calipers,
gages, Smartscopes, fixtures.
Inspect products and materials to ensure they satisfy established
specifications.
Record and document appropriate information such as inspection results, log
books, data gathering systems.
General cleaning of the equipment and area at the end of the shift.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred
Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis,
interpretation, & reasoning).
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill to read and interpret product
documentation, product prints, and inspection criteria to perform product
inspections.
Experience operating Injection Molding Machines a plus.
Computer Skills: experience with Microsoft Excel and digital measuring
systems a plus.
Demonstrated ability to function with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal).
Ability to read, write and speak English.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Some of the physical demands for the position include being able to lift a
weight of 55 pounds; frequent bending, stooping and stretching; being able to
stand for prolonged periods of time; and ability to walk for prolonged period of
time.
Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or
controls.
