The ideal candidate will have knowledge of toxicological pathology across multiple laboratory species. Roles & Responsibilities * Attend necropsies as requested and be available for expert oversight of necropsies as needed. * Interpret and report pathology findings in exploratory and regulatory studies including correlating microscopic findings to macroscopic observations, organ weight changes, and clinical pathology data. * Maintain accurate records of all procedures according to FDA GLP regulations and applicable SOPs. * Conduct pathology peer reviews, depending on experience. * Maintain current knowledge of pathology literature, best practices, and industry directions. * Function as a key member of the pathology team interacting daily with members located in Chicago or off-site locations. * Provide pathology expertise for regulatory submissions and regulatory responses. * Support business development initiatives through client interactions and expert guidance. * Support necropsy either through supervision or training. * Demonstrate scientific leadership through participation in professional organizations, presentations, and publications. * Work closely and collaboratively with other Pathologists and Toxicology Study Directors. * Perform additional duties and tasks assigned by Management. Qualifications/Requirements: * DVM and Diplomate of ACVP (anatomic pathology) or equivalent certification. * Preferably (3+ years) experience in interpreting and reporting pathology findings in a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting; however, qualified candidates with other relevant experience are encouraged to apply. * Experience in immuno- and/or neuropath desirable, with potential growth to set up in-house specialty service offerings, including IHC. * Strong, effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to organize and clearly present complex data and concepts. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, demonstrate consistent productivity, and meet project timelines. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
