Dr. Ganapathi Sankaran, in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, is seeking a highly motivated candidate to assist with research activities in the lab. Primary responsibilities will include isolating hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), developmental T cells from mice, performing flow cytometry analyses, conducting RNA and molecular biology techniques, carrying out miR-eCLIP-based experiments, generating next-generation sequencing data, and analyzing the resulting datasets.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Desired Skills:
Experience in isolating hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and developing T cells from mice.
Proficiency in small RNA-seq, northern blots and qRT-PCR for mi RNA expression analysis.
Familiarity with AGO2-RIP, miR-eCLIP, or related CLIP-based techniques for identifying direct mi RNA-mRNA interactions.
Skilled in luciferase reporter assays to validate functional mi RNA binding to 3' UTR targets.
Experience using mi RNA mimics/inhibitors and/or CRISPR/Cas9 systems to assess mi RNA function.
Comfortable with flow cytometry (FACS) and in vitro differentiation assays to examine mi RNA-regulated immune cell development.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Licensed or temporarily licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in one of the specialty areas to which the position is allocated and for which the laboratory is licensed under Chapter 483, Florida Statutes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical or biological; OR Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training (refer to 42CFR493.1489(b) for details on required courses and training);

As a CMT, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:
* Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
* Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
* Help with ambulation, transferring, and range of motion exercises
* Provide medication reminders, document their condition, and notify a supervisor of any concerns
* Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
* Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies
* Administers prescribed medications to patients and maintains related medical records under the supervision of a NURSE,
* Verify the identity of the patient receiving medication and records the name of the drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
* Present medication to patient and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures.
* Takes vital signs or observes patient to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions
* Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
* Gives direct patient care, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients, and assisting in examinations and treatments.
* May receive supply of ordered medications and apportion or assemble drugs for administration to patient.
* May record and restock medication inventories
A few must-haves for Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers:
* High school diploma (or equivalent)
* Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
* CPR certification
* CMT Certification
* Covid-19 vaccination card
* Valid MD driver's license, auto insurance and transportation
* Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Posting Number Stu403P Working Title Aquaponics Lab Assistant FLSA Student Pay Level A Advertised Pay Rate 10.00 Position Status Federal Work Study Department Student Emp Environ and Physical Sciences Job Summary/Basic Function Applicants will undertake part of all daily operations of the aquaponics lab at Tabler Farm.
* This job requires light manual labor. Common tasks include but are not limited: seeding and propagating new plants, harvesting produce, pruning plants, and cleaning grow rafts.
* In addition, applicants will be expected to assist in routine cleanings of the system including siphoning tanks, scrubbing tank sides, flushing filters, and cleaning pumps.
* The aquaponics lab is under continuous development; thus, applicants may assist the Aquaponics Lab Technician with building future additions, modifications, and improvements to the system.
