Accurately complete all required documentation, including but not limited to, goal completion, actions toward outcomes, incident reports, timesheets, etc. • Complete daily progress notes and communication log to assure appointments, goals, and interests are met. • Assist people receiving services with knowledge of emergency procedures and personal safety. Utilize effective judgment when dealing with safety issues, including but not limited to fire safety by conducting drills, inspecting equipment, and practicing safety procedures in the community. • Assist new staff and/or current staff with orientation, mentoring, and training. • Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements. • Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas. • Follow service definition guidelines for services being provided. • Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. • Drive and travel as required. The ideal candidate will be a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, or a General Psychiatrist with additional experience treating children/adolescents. Anyone with additional training and experience in Addiction Medicine is a plus. There is a strong preference for someone who can work onsite until the program is up and running efficiently, then a hybrid model of both onsite and remote can be considered. The Stephen M. Morris Behavioral Health Center is a 60,000 sf, 72 patient 24-hour Tier 4 facility, with a Pharmacy, and a Learning Kitchen for the PRTF. The new facility will have a 24 bed PRTF for Adolescents, a 16 bed FBC for Adolescents, and a Behavioral Health Urgent Care offering services to both Adolescents and Adults. The primary responsibilities of the Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, Crisis Services are to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medications for people we support, including children and adolescents diagnosed with mental disorders to enhance the quality of life through services that enable them to achieve their personal dreams and goals.What You'll Do: Assess individuals for mental health disorders and make appropriate DSM diagnoses. Ensure that services are delivered in a medically appropriate manner and care provided is in compliance with service definitions and best practices. Review past treatments, evaluations, and other relevant information in order to develop an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan. Prescribe medication or other appropriate treatments including but not limited to psychotherapy, or referrals to other services like ECT/TMS/Vagus Nerve Stimulation, etc. Request diagnostic lab work when appropriate. Maintain all necessary documentation and records which are necessary in the daily work of psychiatry in a timely manner. This may include the use of an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Provide education to individuals to aid in understanding their diagnoses and recommend appropriate treatment. Involve/educate family members and other supports in treatment when appropriate. Encourage individuals to participate in mental health therapy when appropriate. Collaborate, coordinate and consult with other providers such as counselors, psychologists, social workers and medical staff of other local providers, including but not limited to state hospitals, local hospitals, other community agencies, primary healthcare providers, CCNC, public Health Departments, Federally Qualified Health Clinics in order to discuss treatment plans, progress in services and where appropriate, the medical aspects of the person being supported and the implications for their physical healthcare needs. Participate in staffing of complex or high-risk individuals with other program staff. Provide clinical supervision of all assigned physician assistants and nurse practitioners who will be added to his/her North Carolina medical license as the collaborating physician. Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements. Job Highlights:This Opportunity:The Residential Manager provides onsite management of the daily operations of assigned locations. They support both staff and the individuals they support to enhance quality of the life through services that enable individuals to achieve their personal dreams and goals within their community.What You'll Do: • Ensure the person-centered plan is implemented creatively and innovatively as well as timely. Ensure that staff utilize person-centered and positive approach strategies when supporting individuals receiving services through on-site observation, role modeling and person specific training. Determine ways to implement goals and objectives in the community. Provide initial and on-going assessments, and give input to Team Leader into person-centered plan modifications. • Participate or ensure appropriate representation in the team meetings with other providers, and natural supports as needed • Ensure plans are documented effectively and appropriately and updated in a timely fashion. • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the people supported and their preferences, challenges and daily routines. • Respond effectively and timely to all incidents following agency policies and procedures. • Provide leadership, direction and supervision to assigned personnel including floaters and substitute staff. Mentor and monitor performance and implementation of assigned responsibilities by being present during day-to-day activities on all shifts and by unannounced visits. Complete performance evaluations, coaching and counseling and discipline as needed and/or required. Assist in administrative duties such as reviewing time sheets to ensure accuracy and submitting for payroll and necessary payables. • Develop and initiate a system that provides a means for communication across shifts, divisions and between consultants, professionals, outside agencies, families and management staff. • Ensure that staffing schedules and daily operations meet the needs of the people being supported. Arrange for supervision of program when away from the program. • Maintain accurate documentation in handling house petty cash, charges and funds of the people we support. Take responsibility for control of all funds disseminated to staff. • Ensure residents are included in shopping activities and ensure that expenditures do not exceed budgeted amounts unless authorized. • Ensure that all required and/or requested reports/documentation are completed. Assist in maintaining the records of the individuals supported. Participate in the coordination and completion of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual documentation in the EHR and/or medical record. • Maintain a safe working environment for employees and people receiving services • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and effectively manage a crisis. Participate in on-call coverage as required. • Sleepover in a residential setting may be required. • Demonstrate knowledge of, comply with and ensure supervised staff comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations to specific program areas. • Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. • Driving and travel may be required.
