This Role Will Offer You The opportunity to directly influence site safety and compliance Hands-on work with complex systems in a regulated, high-performance environment Collaboration with cross-functional teams across Maintenance, Utilities, and Operations Exposure to a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and process systems Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth You Will Be Responsible For Performing field lockouts and tagouts on process, utility, and movable equipment, including Elastomer Changeout (ECO) systems Creating and reviewing LOTO plans and documentation packets to support field activities Conducting inspections, verifications, and audits of LOTO activities for accuracy and compliance Supporting tool certification and maintenance of LOTO equipment and devices Walking down systems with contractors and operations personnel to confirm energy isolation points Applying locks and tags, obtaining necessary signatures, and securing lock boxes in compliance with site procedures Identifying and assessing all hazardous energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, and thermal energy Serving as a site point of contact for OSHA and safety-related questions specific to lockout/tagout programs Maintaining documentation and records to ensure traceability and compliance with regulatory and internal safety standards Promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture through communication and example Performing other related duties as assigned by the LOTO Supervisor You Will Bring the Following Minimum Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 year of experience in engineering technology, maintenance, manufacturing, or utilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and electrical schematics General knowledge of process systems and energy isolation methods Equivalent military training or experience may be considered Preferred Education & Experience Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology Previous experience in a cGMP manufacturing facility Experience developing or supporting a LOTO program in biotechnology or pharmaceutical operations Familiarity with Brady Link 360 Process Plus or similar LOTO management systems Experience working with 480V systems (24V and 280V also relevant) Certifications (Preferred) OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 General Industry Safety Certification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of hazardous energy isolation principles and safety procedures Ability to use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Skilled in identifying, evaluating, and isolating energy sources across multiple system types Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, PFDs, and electrical schematics Experience with field verification and documentation of energy isolation points Detail-oriented with strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills Commitment to maintaining a safety-first mindset and ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal policies Decision-Making & Scope Works on moderately complex assignments requiring independent judgment and analysis Applies learned techniques and standard procedures to evaluate systems and ensure safe work conditions Determines methods and procedures for isolating hazardous energy sources Receives general instructions on new assignments; operates with minimal supervision once trained Scope, Impact, and Influence Plays a key role in site safety and compliance, ensuring safe maintenance and servicing activities Collaborates closely with Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, and Operations teams Prevents hazardous energy incidents through rigorous application of LOTO procedures and documentation Promotes a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization Physical Requirements Ability to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding, and ramps Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods (up to 60-240 minutes) Able to lift, push, or pull up to 33 lbs Performs repetitive hand, wrist, and finger motions Requires corrected 20/20 vision and ability to distinguish colors Must be able to hear and respond to audible cues May require use of hearing protection and participation in a hearing conservation program May work in confined or elevated spaces (>4 feet) May require respiratory protection, depending on assigned duties Working Environment Work performed in mechanical, utility, and production spaces May involve outdoor elements (precipitation, wind, temperature variations) Includes work in warm, cold, or enclosed environments Involves regular interaction with energized systems under strict procedural control
