Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for working with parents during home visits, providing developmentally appropriate early childhood education and development guidance by following the Parents as Teachers Curriculum
Provide weekly home visits to each family between 1.5 hours (one child households) and 2 hours (two children households)
Follow the program format of early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices and family services during weekly home visits
Assists parents in planning and carrying out follow-up activities that are developmentally appropriate
Develop educational activities that families can easily complete with their children at little to no cost
Support parents' efforts to guide the development and education of their child through the development of an Individual School Readiness Plan
Assist in promoting within the parents a sense of self-worth as a result of their direct participation in the education of their child

This position is remote, but the candidate must travel to families located in Bon Homme, Hutchinson or Yankton County (and possibly surrounding counties). This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, but may occasionally include some evening hours. Additionally, this position works approximately 9 months during the year, but is paid out over 12 months. The starting pay for this position ranges from $42,150 to $47,950 annually, depending on education.
