Essential Functions: This is intended to describe the position but does not cover every function or task that may be required. * Conducts timely assessments of reports of child maltreatment, in accordance with requirements of state and federal statutes and agency policy, using standardized safety assessment tools and decision-making guides. * Carries a caseload and keeps all case file documentation current. * Works collaboratively with law enforcement, other welfare professionals, and agencies. * Prepares for and testifies in court, preliminary hearings, multi-disciplinary team meetings, family partnership meetings, and court hearings. * Places child(ren) in out-of-home care, when necessary, and ensures that the placement is safe and complies with statutory and policy preferences and is in the best interests of the child(ren). Identifies available resources and connects families and children to these resources. * Assures child(ren) is evaluated and assessed to determine medical and psychological needs throughout the case. * Prepares assessments, designs case plans, evaluates the progress of participants, and makes and monitors appropriate placements. * This role requires frequent travel and conducting in home visits and interviews, and may include out-of-state travel, which will require the willingness to have appropriate travel documents. * While you have a standard schedule, there will be times when critical business needs will require work during evenings, weekends, or holidays. As a proud affiliated member of the global YouthBuild movement, we help young people reclaim their education, gain job skills, and become community leaders. We define students by their potential, not their challenges, offering mentorship, counseling, and support. Utilizing positive youth development and trauma-informed practices, we provide wrap-around services and academic and career training to out of school youth.     Adopt-A-Trailhead Montana (AATM) and Pull-Your-Share (PYS) are cooperative volunteer programs that help protect Montana's trails from the spread of noxious weeds. Noxious weeds at trailheads will lead to infested backcountry, city parks, and recreation areas which threatens Montana's tourism economy, wildlife habitat, and native plant communities. These programs aim to stop and control noxious weeds at the trailhead, educate the public about noxious weeds and provide ways they can act against spreading noxious weeds when recreating. AATM started in 2015, and since then there have been 74 kiosks installed with around 42 of those trailheads adopted. Volunteer groups work with state, city or federal agencies to adopt a trailhead or park and are responsible for hosting at least one weed pull per year. PYS was created by a Great Falls teacher and involves both classroom instruction and a field trip where teachers and students pull weeds at a site and learn about natural resource careers. This service member will maintain all current kiosks, recruit volunteer groups for new or existing trailheads without adoptees, conduct kiosk installs, run volunteer days at weed pull events, conduct classroom instruction, host school field trips, maintain social media and outreach for the program, work with other agencies and NGOs to strengthen the program, and assists other noxious weed programs at the department as needed. This position will be in the field and on the road about 40% of the time. The remaining 60% will be conducted in a typical office environment.
