This position plays a key part in keeping our parks clean, safe, and welcoming for the community. As a Park Maintenance II Technician team member, you'll help maintain park grounds, facilities, and equipment through hands-on work like mowing, irrigation repair, landscaping, minor construction, cleaning restrooms, and trash collection. You'll operate a variety of tools, vehicles, and equipment, including turf equipment, skid-steers, backhoes, and dump trucks, and help keep them maintained and ready for use. This position will also be responsible for snow removal. You'll also work closely with your team by helping train and guide coworkers or volunteers, completing safety checklists and work orders, and supporting special events held in the parks. Every day brings something new, and your work will directly support outdoor recreation and community enjoyment. This role requires regular, in-person work and the ability to perform physical tasks in all types of weather. Pre-Employment Requirements * Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical examination. Duties are performed both indoors and outside in the field in various weather conditions. Requires physical effort to perform frequent lifting, bending, and climbing. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Physical hazards may be present when mixing or working with chemicals, power tools, and motorized equipment. May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Subject to drug and alcohol testing. The incumbent performs diversified duties in carpentry, painting and plastering, electrical, and plumbing in response to work orders generated by service requests or unit inspections. The incumbent also performs general repairs on maintenance equipment as needed. The incumbent is expected to follow all HABC policies, perform all work accurately and thoroughly, and respond to the needs of residents and management in a timely, courteous, and respectful manner at all times. All activities must support the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (“HABC” or “Authority”) mission, strategic goals, and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Independently performs a wide range of building repairs and maintenance functions in response to work orders submitted by tenants or Authority staff members.
