The Office of Admissions is responsible for the marketing, recruitment, and orientation of new undergraduate MSU students. The Office of Admissions is also responsible for upholding the Board of Regents and Montana University System admission requirements, policies, and procedures regarding applications for admission, residency, acceptance of transfer credits, and other enrollment-related issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students and their families, creating welcoming first impressions while strategically guiding them through the admissions journey and connecting them with key resources.
Deliver accurate and specific guidance on MSU's admission policies, procedures, recruitment events, and campus life to prospective students, families, and campus partners-serving as a trusted expert on all things MSU admissions.
Collect, enter and maintain prospective student information with meticulous attention to detail in the MSU CRM and database (Banner).
Navigate sensitive situations with diplomacy and professionalism, de-escalating concerns and turning challenging interactions into positive experiences that reflect well on the university. Disseminate vital information accurately and efficiently over the phone, by email, and in person.
Communicate critical information with clarity and efficiency across multiple channels-phone, email, and in-person-adapting messaging to broad audiences while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
Collaborate with Campus Visit Coordinators on projects and initiatives, demonstrating flexibility and contributing to the broader success of the admissions team.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Associate's degree or higher plus progressively responsible entry to mid-level administrative support and/or clerical experience in a customer service-oriented position, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Demonstrated experience using personal computers and software, MicroSoft Office Suite for email correspondence, spreadsheets, electronic calendars.
Demonstrated experience composing, formatting, and proofing grammar, punctuation, and spelling of business correspondence and general office materials as well as following established instructions and procedures with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience organizing and prioritizing heavy workloads and meeting deadlines with many interruptions while maintaining a positive, effective and professional approach.
Demonstrated experience using a digital database for large volumes of information entry, retrieval, maintenance, and processing, with a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the home-based services supervisor, the family development educator shall be responsible to:
1. Conduct weekly home visits with families lasting a minimum of one and a half (1.5) hours to a maximum of two (2) hours per session.
Develop and implement weekly lesson plans in partnership with parents.
Provide comprehensive services to families as outlined in the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
Meet all program-required screening and ongoing assessment timelines with regard to health, education, disability and mental health.
Collect, screen, and track all medical examinations and immunizations, working with families to obtain health information and follow-up as needed.
Each month, in collaboration with parents, provide two developmentally appropriate socializations and/or fieldtrips for 0-5 year-olds and families on assigned caseload and complete classroom health and safety assessment inspections.
Provide case management and general counseling to assigned families to ensure provision of quality mental health, health, and social services, including services to high-risk pregnant women, expectant fathers, and their families. Maintain accurate documentation.

Participate in regular case conferencing sessions to discuss strengths, needs, and concerns of children and their families.

Required Education and Experience:

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
The following duties are typical for this classification
* Coordinates an array of student success services that provide a pathway to degree/certificate completion and retention which includes, but not limited to, coordinating new student orientation, assessment, outreach, coordinates retention of current and prospective students, and follows up with students who are on probation.
* Coordinates student success services to prospective, new and continuing students in specialty fields, such as assessment, career and/or educational planning, registration, financial aid and scholarships, Extended Opportunities and Services (EOP&S), foster youth services, veterans, and/or other areas within student services.
* Assists students in determining program eligibility and obtaining information required to develop student educational, financial and career plans.
* Processes applications and forms according to established procedures; request transcripts, records and other information needed to determine status of applications and forms. Adhere to the requirements of FERPA as it applies to student records.
