    Goals: To provide residents in Family Medicine with a role model of compassionate, competent, patient/family-centered quality care in a multi-cultural urban environment. To provide residents in Family Medicine with an advisor who will be very familiar with their clinical work, educational goals and plans, personal values and aspirations so as to provide the residents with individualized guidance and focused feedback. To provide the Department of Family and Social Medicine and its clinical affiliates with talented, reflective family physicians who will integrate the supervision of resident practices into their activities. To provide the residency program with highly motivated clinician educators who will nurture residents, supervise the quality of their work and who will participate in activities designed to maintain an accredited and vibrant training program. Faculty Activities will include but not be limited to: Three sessions per week of precepting. Whenever possible, this should involve co-precepting with a member of the Behavioral Science faculty. Three to five sessions per week of direct patient care in a manner that meets the highest standards of care set forth by the Department's Vice-Chair for Clinical and Educational Affairs. Supervision of resident practices with particular attention to charting/documentation so as to assure compliance with quality of care standards, health promotion, quality/quantity of Obstetrics care to ensure ten deliveries of continuity patients, family systems orientation, and advance directive/health care proxy discussions. This also includes supervision of periodic home visits. Practice a full spectrum of Family Medicine including being comfortable with seeing Adults to Pediatrics, OB deliveries and post-partum care. There will be 4 weeks per year (approx. 1 week/quarter) with Inpatient Attending responsibilities. Role modeling of team work in all settings. Team leaders during their two-week role as supervising attending on the Family Medicine Inpatient Service will role model teaching and patient care in the context of a team-centered approach to care. Team leaders will assume responsibility as a faculty member, including off-service coverage in the hospital or Nursery, approximately two one-week sessions per year. Team leaders will be actively involved in CQI teams at their respective health centers. They will monitor resident education during CQI meetings and role-model team collaboration. Team leaders will be actively involved in the didactic resident teaching sessions. This can include attendance and participation in sessions as well as assuming the role of the presenter. Team leaders will monitor their residents to ensure the residents are pursuing self-care during their training. Faculty will initiate discussions with their residents specific to their personal learning needs and career plans throughout residency training. Regular assessment of resident learning needs and performance. This includes meeting with advisees at least every three months. Reviewing the resident's rotation schedule for the upcoming three months and reviewing learning goals and strategies for those rotations. Reviewing the rotations of the previous three months, and the rotation evaluations by the resident's supervisors during those rotations. Tracking of ambulatory care panel to ensure breadth and diversity of patient population. Resident assessment also includes attendance at monthly faculty meetings in which summative evaluations of resident performance are generated. In preparation for completion of summative evaluations, team leaders will seek input from Behavioral Science faculty, other preceptors, the resident's file, and the Family Medicine Center staff. Direct observation of resident/patient/family interaction will occur by directly observing the resident and/or by reviewing videotapes. The team leader will have access to New Innovations, the residency software management system for the program. High-Risk Cardiology High acuity telemetry units Patients are admitted from ED, CCU, admitting, procedure areas and other hospital units, and from outside hospitals. Most of our patient population is those diagnosed with myocardial infarction requiring cardiac catheterization, congestive heart failure, heart arrhythmias, and pulmonary hypertension. Cardiac PCU Most patients are diagnosed with congestive heart failure, heart arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, and other life-threatening conditions. With this known diagnosis many may require cardiac catheterization and stent placement. As a leader in advanced therapies for heart failure, we offer care to pre- and post- heart transplant and Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) patients. This unit specifically cares for readmitted LVADs and manage complex issues like pump clots, stroke, and manage medications. Vascular Surgery PCU Our nursing staff provides pre/post-operative care to the wide variety of interventions needed for peripheral vascular disease patients. Surgical services include endoluminal and open repair of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, thoracic outlet decompression, carotid artery angioplasty/stenting, carotid endarterectomies, dialysis access (fistulas/grafts), catheter-directed thrombolysis, and various bypasses and stents for aorto-iliac and upper/lower extremity occlusive disease. Cardiothoracic PCU Post Thoracic Surgery patients ranging from lung transplants, lung surgeries, and esophagectomy. In addition, we care for the Cardiothoracic population after they stabilize from the ICU. We will take care of Pre/Post CABG, Valve Repairs, Heart transplants, and other surgical procedures. Cardiac Surgery PCU We provide post-operative care to cardiac surgery patients. Our most frequent procedures are CABG (coronary artery bypass graft), Cardiac Valve Repair/Replacement, LVAD (left ventricular device implantation), Aortic repairs, and MAZE. Cardiac ICU Patients with MIs, cardiomyopathies and a variety of irregular rhythms, including life-threatening v-fib and v-tach, device designated floor LVAD, IMPELLA, intra-aortic ballon pump, Non post operative side, pre surgical heart intervention patients. Cardiothoracic ICU Patients are CTICU, had surgery from their esophagus to diaphragm, open heart surgery, cabbages, valve replacements, active heart failure program (heart is failing and only thing to do for is to add devices) ventricular assist device. Division 2100 is a fast paced high risk cardiology division at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. We care for a variety of cardiology patients including congestive heart failure, left ventricular assist devices, post cardiac device implantation, post EP and Stent procedures. The Staff Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the patient care team using critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to continually assess the patients' status. The Staff Nurse (RN) must be certified in BLS and obtain ACLS certification within 1 year of working on the division. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Kids in the Game is looking for Group Division Leaders that will work closely with the Camp Director and Assistant Directors to make the 2025 summer the best one ever. Will you be tying shoes, putting on sunscreen, answering a million little one's questions? Absolutely. But you will also be going on field trips, playing sports, and changing kids' lives all day long and there is nothing better than that. Most importantly you will be providing a supportive, safe, and fun environment for the youth of New York City to grow and learn while experiencing the non-stop fun of Summer Camp! The Division Leader is energetic and will oversee up to 3-4 groups of campers (10-15 campers per group) along with approximately 6-8 counselors. Engage with campers, keeping daily notes and handling any camper issues within your division. Work to reduce conflict among campers, create a team-friendly environment with positivity. Collaborate with Camp Director and Assistant Director to train and evaluate Head and Assistant Counselors Demonstrate organizational skills: lesson planning, timelines, meet deadlines, following schedules and set goals. Hold weekly division meetings with counselors to go over the weekly schedule, field trips and other group needs. Assist Camp Director and Assistant Directors in any special event planning and execution for your division. Support in planning and executing the activities in coordination with the weekly theme guides. Act as a primary supervisor along with the Off Site Assistant Director on off-site trips. Attend staff outings to take a break and enjoy time with coworkers outside of camp Commitment to at least 3 days of training leading up to the first week of camp; Dates TBD but likely Saturdays before camp begins Inform Director of camper/staff problems which impact on the health or safety of any Kids in the Game camper. No issue or concern is too small to share! Identify and respond to camper behavior issues Pre-Summer & Summer Work Schedule: Mid May to June (8 to 10 hours per week) Attend specific Division Leader meetings and check ins with our team Support in completing Division Leader Duties Connecting with your division's camp counselors Build relationships and trust Support your Admin Assistant Director in creating camper rosters Connect with your Assistant Directors about your division's programming and off site trips or swim Review all weekly summer camp theme guides Help with modifications of activities Develop go to “Team TIme” games for your counselors Attend Camp Leadership meetings and check ins with your camp team Work on completing summer prep Support in staff retention efforts and touch points with your support staff Team building activities Small team outings Support additional camp marketing Connecting with families via call and email Participate in virtual or in-person camp fairs/events in the community and open houses. You will help to promote the camp and answer parent questions at these events. Leadership/All Staff/Camp Site Specific Trainings Division Leader Trainings Sessions starting in Late May Attend training specific to DL duties depending on your role at camp Camp staff must attend a series of scheduled orientations/trainings. These trainings will be held between the dates of Late May and June 24th, which will include 3 full days of on-site training. Training specifics will be sent at a later date. Please keep these weeks free (including weekend days) so that you can attend the sessions. You will be expected to attend and support all of the on-site training days. Trainings include: Leadership Kick Off All Staff Meet & Greet AD / DL / Specialist Workshops Core Training Workshops On-Site Training (in-person) Tentative dates (camps starting on June 24th): Saturday, June 14th Friday, June 20th Saturday, June 21st Tentative dates (camps starting on July 1st): Saturday, June 21st Thursday, June 26th Friday, June 27th CPR/First Aid/AED Trainings (4 hours) Participate in scheduled CPR/First Aid/AED training. These are required for all Division Leaders Summer Work Expectations Late June to August: There is an expectation for you to work for the agreed upon employment dates. If there are any days you may need off during this time, they must be approved by the People & Culture Department before the summer starts. Weekly Camp Schedule: On-Site Monday to Friday 7:45 to 4:30pm - Camp Leadership are expected to be at camp before your support staff Camper hours are 9:00am to 3:30pm, with children being dropped off between 8:15-9:00am and picked up between 3:30-4:00 pm Aftercare Rotation Expectations: Division Leaders are expected to support at least 1 day per week of aftercare. Camp Directors will create a rotation schedule pre-summer that works for all camp staff Aftercare runs from 4:00 to 5:30pm Only on aftercare days you will work 9:00am to 5:30pm The rest of the team will be expected to all work one day per week of aftercare.
