The Physician Assistant in Neonatology will perform a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation under the general administration of the Director of Neonatology & Newborn Services. The Physician Assistant will also participate in performance improvement, research and educational activities. As an academic institution encourage all physicians to engage in research, but this is not required. We are compassionate, patient-centered organization focused on employee participation and development. ***************************************************** Responsibilities * Participate in multidisciplinary collaborative care to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients with a variety of endocrine abnormalities. * Perform any procedures relative to endocrine disease. * Perform inpatient consults and collaborate on inpatient management of endocrine patients * Supervise and mentor pediatric endocrine fellows. * Participate in clinical research activities and collaborate with the research team in support of ongoing and future clinical trials (research engagement encouraged but not required). * Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with institutional, state, and federal requirements. * Provide on-call coverage as assigned within the department's rotation. * Contribute to the teaching and mentorship of residents in the Pediatrics residency program. * Engage in departmental and institutional quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes. Qualifications * Out of residency or practicing MD/DO * Graduate from an accredited medical school * Graduate from an accredited pediatrics residency program * BC/BE in Pediatric Endocrinology * Evidence of formal, supervised training or clinical experience as required for certain procedures. * Valid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of New York * Valid license to prescribe controlled substances. * PALS Certification * Valid DEA Certification * Demonstrated experience in area of specialty as set forth in credentialing requirements for that specialty. * Excellent English written and verbal communication skills * Salary Range of $220,000-$240,000 per year with opportunity for additional productivity compensation. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, skills, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.
