CNC/Coiler Operator
As a Setup Operator, you are committed to quality and safety standards. With great attention to detail, you refer to blueprint specifications as your program machinery. This process involves adjusting mechanical components as well as CNC coiling machines. Tool preparation, set-up, trouble-shooting, and process control are a few of your setup duties.
Essential Duties:
Perform first piece approval, per set up approval-process.
Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced.
Set up and operate CNC machines to perform machining operations according to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to determine dimensions and tolerances
Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and material on machines
Performs regular cleaning and maintenance on area and related equipment
Understands and complies with all safety requirements as related to designated machine(s) and/or area
Communicates quality concerns of either product or related equipment to Supervisor
Maintains the cleanliness and order of designated area(s) as to 5S standards
Maintains the cleanliness and order of measuring devices used and communicates to quality any concerns

The Toolmaker is responsible for but not limited to the inspection, installation, repairs, and maintenance of tools, dies, gages and other parts. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Job-related technical training or equivalent.

Essential Functions:
Develops and plans layout
Blue print reading
Sets up and operates metalworking machines to include CNC operated machines.
Machines, welds and/or heat treats parts
Visually inspects completed or in-process work
Installs fabricated or purchased fixtures and processing equipment
Documents completion of work orders according to procedure
Requisitions or initiates purchase orders for fabrication materials, machine components and parts
Die repair & maintenance
Owns or willing to purchase personal tools.
All other tooling activities as directed by the department manager
Be proactive in permanent corrective actions and monitor completed work for effectiveness
Build, fabricate, & plumb as required
Cleans, fabricates, machines, welds, and/or heat treats tools
Maintains daily 5s of equipment, tools, area and tracking systems.
Receives tools from the setup team, inspects, cleans, repairs, requisitions replacements and stores in designated location until required for use in production.
Receive change over schedule, pulls tools & stages for pick up by the setup team.
Working Conditions:
Predominantly in a factory/machine shop setting
Involves handling or working near industrial chemicals or vapors such as solvents, cleaning agents and flammable liquids
Involves operating or working near moving mechanical equipment
May encounter moderate to loud noise levels created by power tools, production machinery and heavy traffic
Effort/Physical Demands:
Adequate vision acuity
Frequent long hours/weekends possible
