The Product Engineer provides support for Aircraft production programs both at the Design Center (DC) and the Production Center (PC). Reporting directly to the Product Engineering Manager, the Product Engineer provides Engineering support to specific Product lines which can be more complex program in nature, and takes responsibility in providing technical guidance to Assembly and Test personnel or others in need for his/her product knowledge.

Moog is looking for a Site Operations and Quality Manager for our Mountain View, CA facility. The Structures & Motion Control (S&MC) business unit within Moog Space and Defense Group specializes in space vehicle adapters, vibration suppression and precision motion control. The company provides engineering services and delivers products for applications ranging from space launch vehicles and satellites to aircraft, ground vehicles and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

In this role the successful candidate will oversee the general ops functions of the MV site (with support from several technicians and the management team), as well as managing Quality Assurance for the S&MC business unit and collaborating with a QA engineer in our Space Vehicles (SV) BU (Golden, CO) facility to oversee our AS9100 certification across both sites. Also important is the ability to help adapt current QA policies and procedures to the growing Space Vehicles unit. Success in this role is predicated on an individual's ability to contribute across a broad spectrum of operations, quality and supply chain in both commercial and regulated environments and manage their time and work in a distributed matrix environment.

Our Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA is looking for a Materials Manager

The Materials Manager is responsible for control of the master schedule and inventory; the ordering, scheduling, movement and tracking of all manufactured and purchased parts, and raw materials; the stocking and kitting of parts for assembly and test; in-process inspection; and the shipping and receiving function.

The Materials Manager also oversees the activities of the Planning Department. These activities will include, but not limited to, the responsibility for the planning of all production and non‑production goods and services. This position will be held accountable for the implementation and monitoring of all activities associated with the site.

As a Materials Manager, you can expect to…

* Work closely with Program Management, Contract Administration, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Fabrication and Assembly and Test Value Stream Managers.
* Schedule, prioritize and expedite manufacturing and identify resources to achieve timely delivery of production and engineering hardware.
* Authorize the planning and execution of manufacturing of materials, provide schedules and priorities to assure the achievement of shipment goals, minimizing inventory investment and the optimizing production flow.
* Review, define, and disposition slow‑moving and obsolete inventory.
* Control the movement of work‑in‑process between work centers and suppliers and expedites where necessary to achieve schedules.
* Maintain the accuracy of all customer‑owned inventories, conduct cycle counts and annual physical inventory and audits.
* Assure timely, cost-effective shipments, and compliance with all customs regulations.
* Supply the mechanical and electronic components necessary to support production and test equipment, along with accurate lead times and on time deliveries.
* Support Program Management and Contracts by working directly with customers regarding delivery problems as required.
* Develop the shipment plan for production hardware and engineering hardware on a monthly and/or quarterly basis. Support the achievement of the planned volume and mix through the control of the parts flow through fabrication to Assembly and Test. Monitor progress to the shipping targets.
* Monitor supplier deliveries, manufacturing lot sizes and the release of work orders to the fabrication to support the shipment plan, balancing the objectives of minimal inventory investment and optimal production flow.
* Guide the stockroom to assure accurate counts and appropriate services of kits to assembly and test and raw materials to the fabrication.
* Assure the effective movement of material throughout the facility and to outside suppliers as required.
* Provide prompt placement and on‑time delivery of all materials. Provide timely feedback to Management of potential supplier delivery and quality problems.
* Assure that Materials personnel receive proper instruction in the maintenance and utilization of the MRP/MBS system.
* Assure the accuracy and integrity of the data in the computer‑based materials system by maintaining appropriate controls procedures within the Materials Department and supporting efforts of other departments to maintain the database.
* Prepare annual department staffing and expense budgets.
* Prepare annual recommendations for salary increases.
* Promote Continuous Improvement through employee involvement.

A successful candidate will have…

* Bachelor of Science in Business, Industrial Management or Engineering
* Minimum of seven years of experience in a manufacturing management position with experience in SAP and specific experience with materials, scheduling, planning within an aerospace, defense or space related organization is a plus.
* Personal drive and human relations skills to deal with the conflicting interests of customers, contracts, program management and manufacturing personnel.
* Ability to rapidly acquire a sound understanding of MRP material control systems, as well as detailed knowledge of the specific systems used at Moog
* Certification in Supply Chain, including APICS, or experience in Lean Management Systems is desired.
* Advanced level of business acumen, including project management and team leadership.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to access US export-controlled information

Key responsibilities:

* Assist the department manager/supervisor in scheduling and allocating work to meet expected work outputs of the department.
