Responsibilities: • Work directly with The Sales & Field Engineering Teams on integration and deployment of new hardware. Drive to closure projects by working with internal team members and vendors • Understand Form, Fit & Function of all types of server related hardware for new and existing projects • Ensure all customer technical requirements are addressed in the testing of a solution. Work with internal and field engineers to identify these requirements and propose viable solutions. • Provide technical input to designers, engineering and other team members to help drive compelling new ideas forward. • Determine refinements to existing hardware designs to better meet customer needs. • Analyze current technologies used within the company and develop steps and processes to improve testing procedures. • Detailed understanding of how to properly document test cases and create effective and focused test plans. • Assists in the manufacturing process to meet end to end development/manufacturing goals. • Utilize automated tools and possible development of automated tools in a scripting language (bash, python, etc.). • Understand or a willing to learn networking protocols and equipment. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Engineering or 3+ years of related experience • Deep knowledge of major server component architecture and design (motherboards, hard drives, RAM, CPUs, heat sinks, fans, etc.). • Working knowledge of major power related components (power supplies, PDUs, VRMs, etc.) • Comfortable and worked in a Linux environment. • Understanding of a scripting language. • Comfortable in a fast moving, small team environment. • Excellent communication skills-written and verbal. • Attention to detail and process. • Self-starter and highly motivated. Work closely with our software group to update automation, ramdisks, kernels, etc. Ensures all new platforms is driven through the full development cycle from EVT to MP. Utilize automated tools and development of automated tools in a scripting language (bash, python, etc.) Ensure all customer technical requirements are addressed in the testing of a solution. Own the product they are working on. Interfaces with the customer regarding constant requirement changes and schedule updates. Work with different vendors from different time zones to drive work around or solutions to transpiring issues. Determine refinements to existing hardware designs to better meet customer needs. Work with switches, PSC (power shelf controller), and any other component in a rack. Will work with the BMC on a daily basis using ipmitool, ILOM, or Redfish. Qualifications: Understand x86 and ARM systems from general use to low level troubleshooting. Worked with and understands how to install system tests in Linux from HPL, SpecCpu, etc.. Understands how to program in a programming language (Python, JAVA, etc..) not limited to BASH. Has worked with Ansible, Kiwi, or another automation or orchestrator similar to Jenkins.
