Basic Qualifications:

In this internship, you will become part of Michael Baker International's Transportation Department which includes highway, aviation, electrical, and traffic engineers. Our Pittsburgh staff also supports other offices throughout the country with specialized transportation engineering design services.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter, with responsibilities that include production, design, and documentation for a broad range of project types. With a current focus on growing Design/Build, Federal, and Interstate project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Rail/Transit, Highway Interchange, and Bridges/Tunnels. You will work in multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams with Civil Engineers, Architects, and Systems Engineers. The intern must demonstrate creative problem-solving, initiative to learn new concepts, organizational skills, an ability to work in a team environment with licensed electrical and civil engineers, and a basic understanding of construction documents and constructability. RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the preparation of designs, design calculations, producing BIM models and construction drawings for electrical transportation-related projects for a variety of clients
Work closely with engineers and designers to complete design and/or analysis of the lighting needs on roadways, railways, trails, sidewalks and other transportation infrastructure projects
Research/investigate solutions and report findings
Assist in preparation of quantity calculations and construction cost estimates
Use design software to electronically apply engineering fundamentals in construction plan set preparation

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The group is seeking an experienced Embedded Adaptive Hardware Designer to contribute to the development of the eFPGA architecture and softlogic IDE. You do NOT need to be an eFPGA expert yet need to be experienced in digital hardware/architecture design. The job responsibility includes
Documenting eFPGA architecture, specifications, user guides, and design process
Upgrading eFPGA architecture and RTL for the advanced features, such as functional safety and ASIL-D automotive qualification.
Performing hardware-software co-design, such as the PPA analysis/optimization and the debug environment.
Developing the softlogic library (a library of RTLs that will be programmed into the eFPGA) as a part of the developer-friendly IDE that will be integrated into ADI's CodeFusion Studio.
Porting the eFPGA hardware IP to the advanced technology nodes, such as TSMC 16FFC, TSMC N4/N5.
Integrating the eFPGA IP in the chip with the SoC design team.

Responsibilities:
• Work directly with The Sales & Field Engineering Teams on integration and deployment of new hardware. Drive to closure projects by working with internal team members and vendors
• Understand Form, Fit & Function of all types of server related hardware for new and existing projects
• Ensure all customer technical requirements are addressed in the testing of a solution. Work with internal and field engineers to identify these requirements and propose viable solutions.
• Provide technical input to designers, engineering and other team members to help drive compelling new ideas forward.
• Determine refinements to existing hardware designs to better meet customer needs.
• Analyze current technologies used within the company and develop steps and processes to improve testing procedures.
• Detailed understanding of how to properly document test cases and create effective and focused test plans.
• Assists in the manufacturing process to meet end to end development/manufacturing goals.
• Utilize automated tools and possible development of automated tools in a scripting language (bash, python, etc.).
• Understand or a willing to learn networking protocols and equipment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Engineering or 3+ years of related experience
• Deep knowledge of major server component architecture and design (motherboards, hard drives, RAM, CPUs, heat sinks, fans, etc.).
• Working knowledge of major power related components (power supplies, PDUs, VRMs, etc.)
• Comfortable and worked in a Linux environment.
• Understanding of a scripting language.
• Comfortable in a fast moving, small team environment.
• Excellent communication skills-written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and process.
• Self-starter and highly motivated.

Work cross functionally with different design teams during NPI and product bring up phases.
Work closely with our software group to update automation, ramdisks, kernels, etc.
Ensures all new platforms is driven through the full development cycle from EVT to MP.
Utilize automated tools and development of automated tools in a scripting language (bash, python, etc.)
Ensure all customer technical requirements are addressed in the testing of a solution. Own the product they are working on.
Interfaces with the customer regarding constant requirement changes and schedule updates.
Work with different vendors from different time zones to drive work around or solutions to transpiring issues.
Determine refinements to existing hardware designs to better meet customer needs.
Work with switches, PSC (power shelf controller), and any other component in a rack.
Will work with the BMC on a daily basis using ipmitool, ILOM, or Redfish.
Qualifications:
Understand x86 and ARM systems from general use to low level troubleshooting.
Worked with and understands how to install system tests in Linux from HPL, SpecCpu, etc..
Understands how to program in a programming language (Python, JAVA, etc..) not limited to BASH.
Has worked with Ansible, Kiwi, or another automation or orchestrator similar to Jenkins.
Has an understanding and used code repositories similar to Bitbucket, Git Tea, etc..
Has setup DHCP and PXE environments with containers like Docker, Kubernetes,etc..
Excellent communication skills-written and verbal
Self-starter and highly motivated
Attention to detail and process.
Compensation Range- $85,000k-$95,000k+
