Under the supervision of the Manager of Records and Student Services, the Records Assistant is responsible for delivering a high-quality customer service experience to potential applicants, current applicants, and newly admitted students and their families. In addition, this person will be responsible for reviewing, sorting, classifying, maintaining, and archiving documents, data, test scores, and other sensitive information related to a student's official enrollment records using the University's student information systems, including Slate, PeopleSoft/CaneLink, PowerFaids, and OnBase.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary contact via phone and email for student and parent questions and concerns related to student applications and records and serve as the liaison for student records to other University departments.
* Load and index all documents and files related to undergraduate student records and ensure that the appropriate checklists are satisfied.
* Ensures that student records are kept secure and confidential and are accurately recorded in the University's student information system(s).
* Understands and communicates important concepts related to records management and utilizes a practical approach for ensuring that student records are accurately maintained.
* Regularly review and manage mismatched records in Slate, manage test scores, and process change requests from EM functional personnel.
* Assists with the final high school transcript review process.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Phlebotomy experience is required for CMAs but is preferred for MAs. CPR certification must be earned within 6 months of start date. Candidates with a current CPR certification are preferred. In addition, candidates must know how to use a computer in order to check patients in and out, to post payments, and to scan. Candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Job Summary
Provides supervised health care services to patients and performs a variety of administrative and clinical support duties related to the Student Health clinic operations. This includes but is not limited to: performing various laboratory tests, medication and immunization administration, supporting patient s clinical appointments from access of care to discharge, ability to perform immunization compliance functions, follow blood-borne pathogen exposure protocols for students, documenting patient information clearly and accurately, and providing patient education on a wide variety of healthcare topics all within the scope of practice for a Certified MedicalAssistant.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
PATIENT CARE: Provide patient care including rooming patients, measuring vital signs, taking chief complaints, venipuncture, injections, immunizations, dressing changes, performing CLIA-waived in-house testing, setting up and assisting providers during sensitive exams and all office procedures, maintaining rooms by established infection control principles, and providing education and guidance on health topics and immunizations. Schedule appointments as needed, check patients in and out from appointments, answer telephone and assist caller with needs, communicate with administrative and clinical staff on health related topics, and work within best practices as established in the healthcare industry.
DOCUMENTATION: Documentation of patient care in electronic health record, to include but not limited to lab results from testing, direct and indirect patient care, progress notes, consents, scanning and attaching documents, completion of residency/rotation forms and, patient notification of laboratory results after review by ordering provider.
SAFETY AND QUALITY PROCESSES: Participate in clinic safety and quality processes, to include cleaning examination rooms, monitoring inventory supplies/equipment/medications to determine when orders need to be placed, checking equipment for use, and documenting within Microsoft Word and Excel inventory, clinic processes and education/training.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Duties as assigned by clinic leadership, to include outreach events, divisional events and engagement opportunities, staff education and peer review.
OTHER: Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accrediting organization with a minimum of two years of experience in administrative and clinical support within an outpatient primary setting and a CCMA-Certified Clinical MedicalAssistant (CCMA) Credential, AAMA-American Association of MedicalAssistant, MedCa Medical Career Assessment, RMA/NCMA Registered MedicalAssistant (RMA) Credential, or NCMA-National Certified MedicalAssistant (NCMA) Credential Nationally Registered Certified MedicalAssistant (NCRMA) Credential. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working supervised in an outpatient healthcare clinic among a multidisciplinary team of staff and providers, using an electronic health record for documentation and e-prescribing as a provider agent. Experience in recognizing emergent symptoms of patient decompensation/instability and performing Basic Life Support CPR. Experience in administering vaccines, oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications. Experience with immunizations in children and adults.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Awareness of infection prevention policies, and ability to follow established best practice guidelines for quality and safety in a healthcare organization.
SKILLS
Proficient technology skills with multiple platforms, such as Microsoft, Adobe, and EHR platforms for documentation, tracking and presentations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
ABILITIES

Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a full-time, benefitted MedicalAssistant position at Student Health Services with majority of duties on the Oconee Campus.
Responsibilities include both clinical and administrative duties, including but not limited to triage, vital signs, telehealth presentation site facilitator, basic first aid, performing in-house laboratory tests, patient education, and processing immunizations for in-coming students. This position will require performance of phlebotomy, obtaining and processing specimens, and injection of medications/immunizations. Responsibilities
* Facilitates telehealth visits between patient and provider. Proficient in utilization of telehealth equipment.

Responsibilities:
The candidate in this position is expected to demonstrate the ability to multi-task by working with multiple patients, handling multiple phone calls to include appointment related calls, refills, referrals and authorizations. Display flexibility by working with different positions and in different departments as required. Responsible for EMR documentation, patient work up to include vitals, updating patient information and patient education. This candidate is expected to perform all other assigned task within the scope of their certification.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and at least six months of healthcare experience are required. Candidates for the Certified MedicalAssistant position must have a current national CMA certification. Phlebotomy experience is required for CMAs but is preferred for MAs. CPR certification must be earned within 6 months of start date. Candidates with a current CPR certification are preferred. In addition, candidates must know how to use a computer in order to check patients in and out, to post payments, and to scan. Candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Must have experience with an electronic medical record system, preferably EMD and/or Athena.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to multi--task with office functions of medical practice
Ability to operate basic office equipment: computers, fax, scanner, copier, multi-line phone, etc.
Skill in oral and written communication, including interviewing to gather medical histories, excellent documentation skills to accurately capture and reflect data obtained, and the ability to effectively facilitate communication among providers.
Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply physician protocol, guidelines, and recommendations.
Ability to work as a member of a team and autonomously; flexibility with various job requirements, positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn and perform new tasks.
