Morongo Band of Mission Indians company history timeline
The Morongo Band of Mission Indian reservation was at one time the ancestral lands of various bands of California Native Americans in the Banning region prior to the establishment of the Morongo Indian Reservation in 1865.
In 1876, when United States President Grant set aside reservation property to relocate thousands of Native American Indians, the Morongo Band of Mission Indians were permitted to remain on their birthright land.
Hadley Fruit Orchards: Although Hadley Fruit Orchards was originally founded by Paul and Peggy Hadley in 1931, Morongo Band of Mission Indians purchased the company and continues to follow the mission of the Hadley's.
It wasn't until 1983, when the tribe established a bingo hall, which their journey of economic development began to slowly pay off.
