Position Summary:
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a FieldService Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in providing exceptional service and support for our analytical instrumentation. In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of service-related functions, including the repair, maintenance, and performance verification of assigned products, including demo equipment and instruments returned from customers.
JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide daily repair and maintenance support for assigned products.
Conduct in-house bench repairs as needed while primarily handling fieldservice calls with limited supervision.
Travel within the local region (including day and overnight trips) to support customer needs.
Offer technical support via phone to customers and field personnel regarding repairs, maintenance and installations.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
At least four years of experience in repairing analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, LCMS, AA, or similar instruments.
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of these technologies.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Willingness to travel

Compensation & Benefits:
This full-time, non-exempt position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 paid scheduled holidays and 3 paid floating holidays (Residents of California and Puerto Rico will receive state-mandated sick leave instead of personal days). After one year of employment, you will also be eligible for a generous short-term disability program with the company covering 100% of monthly premiums.
The starting salary range for this role is $75,000 to $77,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. As a non-exempt position, you will be eligible for overtime and double time pay, as outlined in our employee handbook. Additional variable compensation includes an incentive plan (10% of base salary) based on company and service performance, paid semi-annually in April and October. A year-end discretionary bonus may also be awarded based on overall company performance.
This position includes a company car with a fuel card (with a $55 per pay deduction for personal use) and a company-paid cell phone, which remains company property but can be used for personal purposes.

The hourly rate for this full-time position is between $27.82-$55.20 + bonus target + benefits. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician works both indoors and outdoors on either A, C or D shift. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. May occasionally work in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases during the course of work day; may be exposed to loud noise; may work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts. Stands and walks, bends, twists, and crawls; May occasionally be required to work in crawl spaces, shafts, or other areas that could cause claustrophobia. Position Summary:
The FieldService Specialist oversees a team of fieldtechnicians, coordinates the scheduling and delivery of on-site services and parts for customers and technicians in the field. Generate service quotes by identifying components for repair, service, and parts, and create quotes in the ERP system. Identify customer needs and offer additional solutions when appropriate.
Ensure timely order fulfillment, keeping customers informed about delivery schedules and coordinating material deliveries and inventory to meet service center needs.
Assist the Regional Service Manager on driving key initiatives throughout fieldservices, including best practice development, departmental scaling, and improvements in customer experience.

What You'll Do:
Position Summary:
The FieldService Specialist oversees a team of fieldtechnicians, coordinates the scheduling and delivery of on-site services and parts for customers and technicians in the field. This role is focused on ensuring timely service delivery, achieving financial targets, and maintaining high customer satisfaction. The FieldService Specialist collaborates with the Regional Service Manager and Regional Director to execute regional service strategy, achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals, inventory management, achieve training objectives, and enhancing team efficiency in repairs and fieldservices.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the fieldservicetechnician team.
Assists Service manager building a qualified and well-equipped team, ensuring ongoing development of knowledge, skills, and capabilities.
Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of servicetechnicians to meet customer demands while managing technician utilization. Maintain accurate data in CRM and ERP systems.
Schedule and lead weekly FieldService Meeting to discuss topics including job schedule, lessons learned, safety, product/service updates and technician development.
Provide technical support to service personnel performing on-site services, including installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Thoroughly review customer scope/needs and prepare servicetechnicians with all relevant information and materials before customer visits to ensure expectations are met.
Interact with customers to respond to inquiries and provide exceptional service by addressing issues promptly and professionally.
Generate service quotes by identifying components for repair, service, and parts, and create quotes in the ERP system. Identify customer needs and offer additional solutions when appropriate.
Ensure timely order fulfillment, keeping customers informed about delivery schedules and coordinating material deliveries and inventory to meet service center needs.
Assist the Regional Service Manager on driving key initiatives throughout fieldservices, including best practice development, departmental scaling, and improvements in customer experience.
Review and approve expense reports, timecards, and PTO requests for direct reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures as directed by the Regional Service Manager.
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as customer-specific requirements related to safety, employment, and environmental standards.
Monitor service reports, ensuring follow-up on future service needs and requirements.
Maintain appropriate fieldtechnician stock levels to ensure efficient and timely service.
Support the Aerzen sales team and channel partners in driving aftermarket growth.
Stay updated on new products, service offerings, and company initiatives that affect the regional team and customer base.
