Joining us a Field Engineer, you will support and complete the full cycle of field coordination issues with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Responsibilities: * Organization, flexibility, extraordinary customer focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include: Providing pre-construction support * Lead the submittal and request for information (RFI) processes for specific definable features of work (DFW), utilizing PMA and other Project Connect programs completely to closure * Evaluate project design and engineering documents, handling their organization and distribution to necessary parties * Perform project-specific tasks in preparation of Pre-Mobilization Kickoff meetings * Compile, contact, and arrange for short-form subcontracts with local entities at the project site * Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase agreements Leading all aspects necessary for construction support * Manage the quality assurance and quality control process as delineated in the Project Quality Plan * Coordinate DFW prep meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, and punch list final inspections * Handle mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination drawings, shop, and as-built drawings * Coordinate creation of lift and formwork drawings Administering closeout processes * Compile turnover documentation for specific DFW and transfer to customer per the project specific quality and TSO plan * Assist Project Engineer and Project Manager with getting contract documents closed out with subcontractors and suppliers * Support the final inspections and punch list process with the customer for specific DFW responsibilities Other duties as assigned, including: * Participation in project safety audits and championing Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program * Scheduling Project Assignment: New hires may be placed in one of the following businesses / industries: * Advanced Manufacturing Group * Civil Operating Group * Battery Storage * Data Center Group * Denver Office * Energy Storage Group * Federal Contracting Group * Phoenix Office * Power Distribution Group * Solar and Emerging Renewables Group * Sports and Entertainment Group * Wind Energy Group Additional Information: Get ready to join an exciting and ever-changing industry and work with best-in-class teams to deliver the highest possible quality service to our customers. Responsibilities for this position and required skills include: * Handling the project from first estimate all the way through subcontracts being formalized. * Ability to look beyond the information that has been given, to ask the right questions and work to provide a complete project cost evaluation. * Must be a collaborative and passionate advocate for our customers, empowering and informing them throughout the project. * Must be aggressive in providing innovative solutions to complex issues as they arise related to cost, lead-times, trade partners, and/or specified products or materials. * Ability to make reliable predictions as it relates to cost and be comfortable estimating across all scopes of work. * Must have experience preparing detailed conceptual cost estimates and conceptual cost studies from schematic or feasibility level documentation. * Ability to prepare detailed estimates and as the design evolves, develop variance summaries between estimates and value engineering studies throughout. * Ability to assemble a complete presentation-worthy estimate package that clearly communicates project cost. * Must be able to collaborate with project team to establish the necessary staffing and project requirements. * Must have knowledge and understanding of unit costs and the factors that affect construction cost. * Ability to prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade specific clarifications and comprehensive bid packages. * Must have experience with the bidding process: soliciting bids, communicating with bidders, evaluating subcontractor proposals, using bid tally sheets, etc. * Make subcontractor award recommendations to the customer/owner and negotiate and finalize subcontracts with trade partners. * Must be prepared to participate and often lead the preparation and presentation of cost / budget information to the customer/owner. * Must have experience being a member of the team involved in request for proposal responses (RFP's) and the formal presentation for a project. * Able to engage and develop business with new and existing customers.
