Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager
Job Type: Full Time, Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $100,000 - $110,000 annually, plus up to 10% performance bonus + full benefits package
About the Role
We are seeking an EHS Manager to lead all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at a growing food production facility. This newly created role reports to the VP of Operations and offers the chance to design and implement a proactive EHS program from the ground up. In this role, you will:
Oversee safety and compliance for a workforce of around 100 employees, scaling up to 350-400 during peak season
Lead audit readiness, with direct responsibility for SMETA 7.0 certification and environmental sustainability requirements
Deliver training and engagement, building proactive safety culture across a diverse, largely Spanish-speaking workforce
Manage regulatory programs, including OSHA, EPA, stormwater, waste management, ammonia refrigeration, and chemical handling
Develop emergency preparedness plans and coordinate with local agencies
Partner with operations teams through hands-on leadership on the floor, especially during peak season
Drive continuous improvement, analyzing risks and strengthening systems beyond minimum compliance
Expand scope over time, with potential to include farm operations or building a dedicated EHS team within 2-3 years

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred
5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or production environments
Familiarity with audit frameworks (SQF, BRC, ISO 45001) a plus
At least introductory Spanish required to engage with the workforce
Strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA compliance, hazard analysis, and training program development
Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
