1929: Cecil Gee opens a men's clothing store in London.

1939 Moss Bros. extends out of London and takes the first steps to becoming a national high-street retailer

1982: Moss Bros acquires Fairdale clothing company.

In 1987, Moss Bros added another strong brand name when it acquired The Suit Company, which, as its name implied, targeted the retail market for suits and accessories.

1988 A period of acquisitions and expansions, Moss Bros.

Ade retired in 1989 while Jay and Glenn built upon the existing business with the addition of Moss Bros.

The company had begun acquiring more retail brands, including Dormie in 1992.

1996: The firm acquires Blazer retail group.

Moss Bros opened its first YSL retail store in June of 1997.

By 1999, Moss Bros's retail network had grown to 190 stores, including a growing number of out-of-town discount clothing stores operated under the Brand Centre name.

Moss Bros scrambled to catch up, restructuring its holdings in 2000 to create a new clothing brand.

2002: Moss Bros abandons Code format and restructures most of its stores into new Moss format.

2003 Moss Bros. makes some high profile partnerships by launching a concession on the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise liner and creating a exclusive collection for Royal Ascot

The year 2011 added a Volkswagen franchise to the Auto Group and represented the first European manufacturer to join the team.

And in 2015, Glenn broadened the family of businesses to include the first stand-alone OEM and aftermarket parts business on the team – CARQUEST of Colton and OE Auto Parts.

2016 Moss Bros. continues to make men feel amazing with suits, knitwear and accessories for every style of gentleman – combined with the knowledge and expertise of the last 165 Years
