About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Women's Athletic Apparel Technical Designer with deep expertise in fit, fabric, construction, and design specifications to help correct ongoing sample fit issues coming from our manufacturing partners. The right person can quickly diagnose issues (fit, pattern assumptions, fabric behavior, spec interpretation, construction, etc.), and translate corrections into clear, factory-executable directions so we can reach production-ready fit with fewer sample rounds.
This is a freelance, on-call role with hours that flex around development and fitting cycles. In-person meetings and fit sessions in Orange County are required.
What You'll Do
Review proto/fit/PP (Pre-Production) samples and identify root-cause fit issues across our categories
Lead/support in-person fit sessions, then document results thoroughly (photos, callouts, measurements)
Create and refine tech packs and specs: POMs (Points of Measure), graded specs, tolerances, construction details, BOMs (Bill of Materials), trims/labels, artwork placement
Produce concise, visual fit comments and correction packets that factories can implement accurately
Advise on fabric behavior and performance affecting fit (stretch/recovery, compression, growth, drape, opacity, shrinkage, torque, hand feel)
Evaluate and recommend construction/stitch choices appropriate for comfort first (with athletic performance)
Communicate directly with our manufacturers to clarify specs, align measurement methods, and confirm corrections are executed
Help tighten our development process to reduce repeat issues (spec clarity, tolerance strategy, measurement standards, category fit benchmarks)
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Technical Designer in women's performance/athletic apparel
Understanding of athletic details like waistbands, skirt/short integration, pocket placement, zippers, reinforcement points, and stretch-seam best practices
Strong command of fit analysis, POMs (Points of Measure), tolerances, grading logic, and factory-ready technical communication
Deep working knowledge of performance fabrics and how material behavior impacts pattern/specs (compression knits, interlock, rib, brushed knits, French terry/fleece, etc.)
Ability to translate feedback into precise written direction and collaborate across time zones
Tools: Excel/Sheets for specs required; Illustrator preferred; PLM (Product Lifecycle Monitoring system) experience a plus
Local to OC for in-person fittings/meetings
Nice to Have
Fabric and materials sourcing
Pattern-making knowledge (even if you're not drafting patterns daily)
Experience troubleshooting overseas sample issues and reducing sampling iterations

Job Title: Junior Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer
Join our growing team and play a key role in protecting lives and property. We're looking for a detail-oriented Junior Fire Sprinkler Designer to support the layout and preparation of fire sprinkler systems. You'll collaborate with internal teams and clients while continuing to build your expertise in code-compliant design.
What You'll Do:
Create drawings, specifications, and schematics for sprinkler system installations
Work with Project Managers and Sales to verify project requirements and ensure code compliance (NFPA, federal, state, and local)
Layout sprinkler devices on basic designs using AutoCAD and HydraCAD tools
Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and team members
Maintain safety practices and adhere to company policies and procedures
Stay engaged in continuous learning and professional development
What You Bring:
2+ years of CAD experience in fire sprinkler design for commercial projects
Proficiency with HydraCAD, Hydracalc, or Hydralist (other related software will be considered)
Solid understanding of NFPA codes and sprinkler system components
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to pass background and drug screenings
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Eligible for state licensing and/or vendor certifications
Bonus Points for:
NICET Level II (or higher) in Water-Based Systems
Knowledge of REVIT and X-REFs

About the Role
Armada is looking for a Senior Visual Designer to help shape brand across digital, web, and print. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Design across multiple formats - digital, web, print, and more - making each deliverable feel distinct yet unmistakably Armada.
Work with the Growth team to develop, implement, and maintain Armada's brand language.
Invest in understanding complex subjects like edge computing and AI infrastructure and explore how to express them visually.
Partner closely with UI/UX leads to ensure brand is visually consistent across the entire user experience.
Support cross-functional teams by designing presentation decks and empowering others to maintain brand quality on their own.
Manage execution details across digital and physical formats, ensuring designs are production-ready and meet technical standards.
Own your timelines and communicate milestones to ensure smooth, on-time delivery.
Required Qualifications
8+ years visual design experience in brand or related area.
Exceptional portfolio showcasing stylistically-diverse design work across digital, web, and print.
Fluent in design principles including typography, color, layout and composition, symbolism, and art direction.
Expert skill level in typical design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma).
A spirit of experimentation and a strong point of view, paired with the judgment to know when to push and when to align with shared goals.
Aware of current design trends, tools, and visual culture, and brings a modern sensibility to every project.
Appreciative of clean, minimal design that prioritizes clarity over decoration.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to compellingly present ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Able to receive feedback and translate it into executable design adjustments.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in graphic design.
Strong sketching or drafting skills.
Experience with 3D modeling and rendering pipeline (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D).
Understanding of motion design principles like pacing and rhythm.
Demonstrates UI/UX design thinking that balances user experience with brand consistency.
Experience designing scalable icon sets and libraries.
