About the Position of Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver

As a Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver for Mavis, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a delivery truck. In addition, our Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers must ensure all delivery loads are stacked, padded, and properly secured. By safely operating your delivery truck in accordance with all traffic laws and maintaining a good driving record, you will be part of a delivery team that provides superior customer service.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver, you must (1) be at least 21 years of age; (2) be legally authorized to work in the United States; (3) possess a valid driver's license; (4) maintain a Motor Vehicle Record which meets Mavis's Driving Record Standards; (5) have experience driving and operating a straight truck; and, (6) be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.

The Mobile Operation Team (MOT) Driver is responsible to distribute products promptly to our customers. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction. The primary responsibility is responsible for providing efficient and safe delivery of boxes to our valued customers within the NYC area. A driver operates a refrigerated truck and also operates a hand truck to assist when making deliveries. Our drivers deliver orders to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time.

Responsibilities

* Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
* Follow routes and time schedule
* Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
* Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients' complaints
* Collect payments
* Inform customers about new products and services
* Complete logs and reports
* Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
* Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
* Very Strong Customer Service Background
* Valid professional driver's license
* Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Good driving record with no traffic violations
* High school degree

Education and Qualifications:

* A minimum of 1-2 years of RECENT commercial box truck driving experience
* Ability to clearly communicate and read in English
* Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)
* Must have flexibility with work shifts (mornings and/or evenings)
* Ability to complete all basic and recurring training
* Must be able to deliver orders up to 50 lbs in weight to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time (this may include walking up or down several flights of stairs)
* Must be comfortable interacting with customers
* Must have a strong commitment to customer service and safety
* Comfort /familiarity with basic smartphone operations
* Ability to utilize smartphones for two-way communication with our Operations Team
* Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture
* 21 years of age or older
* Must have a valid NY, NJ, CT or PA driver license
* Ability to navigate a route successfully & independently
* 3 points or less on a motor vehicle report
* Ability to prioritize and make decisions independently
* CDL is not required, but a plus
