Our Locomotive Service Techs travel to customer sites to perform maintenance, repairs or upgrades on locomotives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair, maintain or upgrade locomotives at customer sites.
Communicate with Field Manager using cell phone and internet.

JOB SUMMARY
Fleet Services is currently hiring a Heavy-Duty Technician to join our team to support the future growth of the Company. The Heavy-Duty Technician will be responsible for maintenance and repair of a variety of trucks and equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair a variety of rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
* Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals on equipment.
* Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment.
* Repair electrical and mechanical components
* Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading.
* Carry out preventative maintenance program for mobile equipment.
* Observe competitive activities.
* Contribute to company image and reputation.
* Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment.
* Maintain and follow driving guidelines for assigned company vehicle.
* Identify and request replacement parts to perform repairs.
* Complete all paperwork thoroughly and in a timely fashion.
* Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.
* Perform all other duties as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications
* 3-5 years' experience in heavy equipment repair industry
* Extensive Knowledge or all aspects of heavy equipment
* Knowledge of Gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, etc
* Familiar with hydraulic and electrical schematics
* Able to perform tasks independently.
* Must have own hand tools.
* Must have basic computer skills.
* High School diploma or Equivalent

Full time Under general supervision, this position acts as a subject matter expert for Tractor Technicians. The Senior is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and complex repairs as it pertains to tractor maintenance including but not limited to the fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections
May onboard and mentor new Tractor Technician trainees; act as team lead to include beginning or ending shifts
Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairs
Troubleshoot tractor issues, develop innovative solutions and work independently under minimal direction
Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times
Complete secondary maintenance on escalated repairs
Accurately perform the most difficult repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and exceed requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
Shift Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 7AM to 5:30PM

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
18 years of age with 3 or more years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
A/C Certification, DOT-certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes.
Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations. Employees without their own tools may obtain them through a toolbox purchase program.
