* Provides prompt technical expertise, policy guidance, and promotes uniformity on the application of concepts, standards, and program matters to division, state, and local staff relating to the following operations strategies: incident management; road weather management; arterial management and signal timing; real time traveler information; planning for operations; operations performance management; strategic planning; systems engineering; ITS architectures and ITS technology deployment.
* Is responsible for interagency and metropolitan ITS planning coordination, intermodal activities, and multi-jurisdictional coordination involving surrounding States and local governments associated with operations and transportation management activities including traffic operations, incident management, demand management, and transportation system management and operations.
* Coordinates and proactively participates in a variety of activities associated with operations development and deployments, as well as continuous improvement of Federal aid transportation processes and project implementation activities.
* Performance of these duties involves representing FHWA in meetings and conferences with State, Federal, and local officials; representatives of various organizations; and members of the public.
* Conducts proactive leadership in guiding or assisting with the Division’s various program/risk assessments, process reviews and/or quality assurance reviews of internal/external process related to Federal aid programs and operations.
