What You Will Do:
* Responds to patient needs in a timely manner
* Transportation and patient escort
* Performs visual acuity, eye irrigations and equipment setups
* Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
* Follows appropriate protocols and participates as a team member for trauma, stroke, heart and sepsis alerts, and resuscitation.
* Performs wound care and practices sterile technique when appropriate
* Performs suture and staple removal, excluding facial region.
* Performs foley care and collects specimens.
* Performs EKG
* Performs Phlebotomy
* Collects and documents patient data, i.e. vital signs, weight, procedures performed
* Reports observations and condition changes to RN and/or physician in a timely manner, i.e. change in vital signs, symptoms
Minimum Qualifications:

The Preop/PACU department at Mount Carmel St. Ann's averages about 30 cases per day. The registerednurse would expect to see pre-surgical and post-surgical care cases. Summary:
A nurse intern will be engaged in a structured internship program to gain practical experience in clinical settings while under the supervision of a nurse. A nurse intern may participate, perform and engage in any and all aspects of the associated licensure they are seeking (LPN or RN) under the direct supervision of their assigned precepting nurse. A nurse intern may perform activities within the scope of unlicensed personnel without direct supervision of a precepting nurse.
What You Will Do:
* Participates in the orientation program as directed by the nursing unit/education team.
* Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and standards of care.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
* Actively engage in learning opportunities, including clinical experiences, training sessions, and seek guidance from licensed nursing staff when appropriate.
* Document patient care accurately and timely under the direct supervision of a preceptor.
Preceptor Responsibilities
* An RN must be identified to precept the nurse intern seeking RN licensure. An LPN or RN may precept a nurse intern seeking LPN licensure.
* Review nurse intern documentation.
* Direct supervision of any and all care provided by the nurse intern outside of the scope of unlicensed personnel.
* Continually assess competency of the nurse intern and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
* Facilitate a safe learning environment that promotes open communication.
* Provide consistent feedback of the nurse intern to unit director/education team.
* Co-sign all medications administered by the nurse intern.
Nurse Internship Duration and Scheduling:
* Nurse intern program will last until licensure is obtained or otherwise directed by unit director.
* Once licensure is obtained unit orientation will be continued as a licensed RN or LPN.
* The nurse intern will maintain a minimum of 24 hours worked per month to allow for flexible scheduling around academic obligations. Once licensure is obtained they will be held to the hourly work requirements of the accepted position.
The following may not be performed by a nurse intern:
* Co-sign medication administered by a licensed nurse or nurse intern.
* Witness controlled substance waste.
* Initiate or document restraints.
* Administer medications without a co-signing nurse.
* Perform/document physical assessment upon admission.
* Participate, perform or engage in any practice that requires a nursing license without the direct supervision of the precepting nurse.

Position Summary
Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care and provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinic services. Responsible for performing a variety of clinical duties including but not limited to: monitoring patient flow, obtaining and documenting patient vitals, document current medications, chief complaint, performing technical laboratory functions including phlebotomy/EKG/stress testing, monitor/track/charge medical equipment, scheduling procedures and tests. Responsible for performing a variety of office duties including but not limited to: greeting patients, vendors, and other visitors and notifying appropriate staff of their arrival, operating switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls, obtaining current and accurate insurance information each visit, verifying coverage through insurance company, obtaining pre-certifications or prior authorizations as needed, maintaining daily accurate records for timely billing of accounts, notifying patients of account status and payments due using collection techniques to assist in keeping accounts receivable current. Assigned to a specific practice/urgent care but will need to assist in covering other practice sites.
What you will need:
* Must be a graduate of an accredited program of practical nursing with current licensure in the state of Ohio.

Position Summary
Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care and provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinic services. Responsible for performing a variety of clinical duties including but not limited to: monitoring patient flow, obtaining and documenting patient vitals, document current medications, chief complaint, performing technical laboratory functions including phlebotomy/EKG/stress testing, monitor/track/charge medical equipment, scheduling procedures and tests. Responsible for performing a variety of office duties including but not limited to: greeting patients, vendors, and other visitors and notifying appropriate staff of their arrival, operating switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls, obtaining current and accurate insurance information each visit, verifying coverage through insurance company, obtaining pre-certifications or prior authorizations as needed, maintaining daily accurate records for timely billing of accounts, notifying patients of account status and payments due using collection techniques to assist in keeping accounts receivable current. Assigned to a specific practice/urgent care but will need to assist in covering other practice sites.
What you will need:
* Must be a graduate of an accredited program of practical nursing with current licensure in the state of Ohio.
* OR must be a High school graduate. Medical Assistant certification required.
* Experience in a medical office or urgent care setting preferred.
* Must have the ability to perform as a Medical Scribe from time-to-time.
* Current CPR certification.
* Proficient in the use of personal computers with strong typing skills. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is desired.
* Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, co-workers and the public.
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with medical and administrative staff, patients, co-workers and insurance companies.
* Able to prepare and present reports to FPG management as requested.
* Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
* Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, and decision making. Skill in analysis and interpretation of data, and preparation of reports. Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques, appropriate use of universal precautions, appropriate charting of patient data.
* Skill in point of care testing, vital signs, EKG, and other clinical aspects of the office.
* Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurable under Firelands auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.

What You Will Do:
* Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
* Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
