Alex Wirth-Cauchon is CIO and Executive Director of Library, Information, and Technology Services (LITS) at Mount Holyoke College. LITS facilitates the creative use of information and technology for the College community. It supports the educational priorities of the College by providing instruction, materials, staff expertise and equipment to sustain learning, teaching, research and the College's administrative functions.

Alex received his BA in Sociology from the Honors College at Western Michigan University. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology at Boston College where he also worked in the Office of Information Technology. He taught Sociology at Drake University and Grinnell College. Alex helped create MITC, the Midwest Instructional Technology Center, as its Associate Director and was part of NITLE's leadership team before joining Mount Holyoke College in the spring of 2009 as its Director of Research and Instructional Support. Alex was a Frye Leadership Institute Fellow in '04, completed the Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians at Harvard's Graduate School of Education in '09, and the Educause Institute Leadership program in '15.
