Job Responsibilities

Also directly supervises 30+ non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Directional Drill Operator to join our growing team. The Operator will be responsible for operating drilling equipment and/or locating the predetermined path to the exit point. They will operate in a safe manner, avoiding utilities and other obstacles. We are looking for experienced individuals with knowledge of the telecommunications construction industry.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
•Operate drilling and various other construction equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
•Drill and/or locate predetermined path to exit point.
•Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers to assist in support of drilling operations.
•Responsible for regular maintenance and care of the assigned heavy equipment, produce any documentation needed for each job, daily communication with managers is a must.
•Loads and hauls the machine (if appropriately licensed).
•Drives, sets up, and breaks down safely and efficiently.
•Operates heavy equipment near active utilities.
•Have knowledge of shoring systems and how to use them

Required Skills & Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Minimum 1-year prior experience in drilling and using the locating equipment to find any underground utilities.
•Must have experience operating heavy equipment near active utilities.
•Must have a valid driver's license (unrestricted) and acceptable driving record.
•Pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVR.
•Must be able to operate the equipment safely.
•Read and understand plans and specifications.
•Must follow all OSHA, ANSI standards, as well as company rules & regulations.
•Knowledge of basic computer skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
