The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, affiliated with Elmhurst Hospital Center, serving the culturally diverse community of Western Queens, has an exciting opportunity for a Neurologist to join as faculty. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
This full-time position is available immediately for a board certified/board eligible adult Neurologist, capable in both General Neurology and Stroke. Elmhurst Hospital is a Joint Commission Certified Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and the candidate will be joining three other full-time stroke providers.

Compensation
We offer faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. Total compensation derives from base salary and participation in the Faculty Practice, with expected starting range of $290-$340k depending on experience.

Clinical: Provide outpatient palliative care, manage symptoms, facilitate advance care planning, build patient panel and referral relationships, collaborate with oncology and multidisciplinary teams.
Growth: Opportunities to expand services to non-cancer populations and develop palliative medicine fellowship program.

We require:
Graduate from an accredited medical school (MD/DO)

The Physician Provider / Family Medicine in the Montefiore School-based Health Program is responsible for the following specific tasks:
Clinical
Take a good background information for all students registered with the School Health Program.
Obtain the most recent comprehensive physical examination for students with primary care providers.
Take on the role as primary care provider for students with no insurance and/or with no primary care provider.
Conduct a regular comprehensive physical examination (PE) of students.
Perform the regular health maintenance examination of the students who use the school-based health clinic as their primary care site.
Develop an appropriate plan of care for all students seen in the clinic.
Examine, assess and develop a treatment plan for all walk-in and acute care visits.
Examine, assess and develop a treatment / follow-up plan for students with chronic illness.
7. Develop and analyze differential diagnoses based on clinical and laboratory data.
8. Order and interpret diagnostic and screening tests and procedures when necessary.
9. Dispense medicines that are available in the clinic and prescribe medicines when necessary.
