Candidates should have a record of outstanding academic accomplishments and strong credentials in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Clinical services are primarily provided in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at CHAM, which includes 20 beds for high-acuity patients and 6 beds in an Intermediate Care Unit. The Division Chief will lead a team that includes 11 full-time faculty members, 4 house physicians, and a multidisciplinary staff composed of critical care nurse practitioners and nurses, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, nutritionists, social workers, child life specialists, and pharmacists. This team provides continuous in-house coverage for CHAM's PCCU, in the pediatric transport program, and the sedation service. In addition, the PCCU team collaborates in the care of patients with complex heart disease in the 6-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular Care Unit (PCVCU).
The PCCU is one of the largest in the region and supports a busy Pediatric Emergency Department, along with a comprehensive array of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties. It serves as a referral center for hospitals throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester, and Hudson Valley. The unit offers advanced and highly specialized services, including mechanical cardiac support such as Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS); extracorporeal liver support using the Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating System (MARS); Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP); complex mechanical ventilation modalities; bone marrow and solid organ transplantation-including heart, liver, and kidney-as well as cellular therapies for cancers; and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). More than 1,200 patients are treated annually in CHAM's PCCU.

Role Summary:
MSHP seeks a MedicalDirector (MD), Physician Engagement and CDQI, who will (1) be responsible for driving key population health goals including access, quality, utilization and accurate risk adjustment with a group of practices and (2) close partnership with the CDQI Director to drive accurate risk adjustment throughout the system.
This MedicalDirector must be effective at influencing physicians, medicaldirector and other key practice staff to drive value based care success. He/she will support the establishing and hardwiring processes to drive excellence in efficiency of care, quality and accurate risk adjustment for all populations served, especially our patients covered under a Medicare arrangement (MSSP or MA). The MD will report to Vice President, Clinical Integration and Population Health with shared accountability to Director, CDQI.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
Effective influencer for primary care clinical and administrative leadership throughout MSHS to drive VBC performance, with a special focus on driving accurate risk adjustment.
Establish a peer level credibility with physicians and medicaldirectors across Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS).
Develop productive working relationships with practice managers/directors and other practice administrative staff across MSHS.
Must serve as the Population Health Practice Optimization Lead (working collaboratively with a Population Health Manager (PHM)) for 6-10 high priority primary care/multispecialty practices.
Present and facilitate pod and practice health meetings.
Help administer the Value-Based care bonus program for PCPs (IM, FP and Geriatrics)
As appropriate, directly respond to provider/administrator/practice requests from meetings and ad-hoc communication
Ideally, stay clinically active primary care or another setting.

**Responsibilities**
The successful applicant should have a strong experience in clinical care and administrative leadership in Adolescent Medicine, including prior Assistant/Associate MedicalDirector experience. Job responsibilities include outpatient primary and subspecialty adolescent clinical care, inpatient consultative care, HIV treatment and prevention outpatient care, administrative leadership of the HIV treatment and prevention program, and administrative leadership of our outpatient medical program in partnership with the MedicalDirector. **Responsibilities: (brief version)**
+ Patient Care: Providing direct care to patients in our busy interdisciplinary Adolescent Health Center, including primary and specialty adolescent and young adult health care, reproductive health services including LARC, LGBTQ care including gender-affirming therapy, care for youth with and affected by HIV, eating disorders, and chronic disease.
+ Administrative Leadership: The Associate MedicalDirector will be responsible for administrative leadership of the primary and subspecialty adolescent medicine clinic, in collaboration with the MedicalDirector. Duties will include developing and refining clinical protocols, optimizing clinic flow and procedures, and developing and implementing quality improve projects. They may also serve as the administrative director of our HIV treatment and prevention program supporting multidisciplinary service provision to youth living with and at risk of HIV. They will assure program objectives and data are in accordance with our grant funders and with evidence-based care guidelines.
+ Teaching: Precepting adolescent medicine fellows, pediatric residents and Icahn School of Medicinemedical students in the outpatient setting at the Adolescent Health Center, as well as on serving as attending physician in the inpatient adolescent medicine consultation service at Kravis Children's Hospital of Mount Sinai Hospital.

The successful applicant should have a strong experience in clinical care and administrative leadership in Adolescent Medicine, including prior Assistant/Associate MedicalDirector experience. Job responsibilities include outpatient primary and subspecialty adolescent clinical care, inpatient consultative care, HIV treatment and prevention outpatient care, administrative leadership of the HIV treatment and prevention program, and administrative leadership of our outpatient medical program in partnership with the MedicalDirector. The Associate MedicalDirector will also engage in medical education of residents and Adolescent Medicine fellows. The Physician will work collaboratively with the MSAHC Medical and Mental Health Directors to ensure that the delivery of primary and subspecialty adolescent and young adult care to young people is developed and managed in accordance with MSAHC's mission, strategic direction and business position, Mount Sinai's policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, funder guidelines, and established best practices in adolescent medicine. In addition, the Physician will be responsible for fulfilling such duties as assessments, planning, teaching and counseling as appropriate.
Responsibilities: (brief version)
Patient Care: Providing direct care to patients in our busy interdisciplinary Adolescent Health Center, including primary and specialty adolescent and young adult health care, reproductive health services including LARC, LGBTQ care including gender-affirming therapy, care for youth with and affected by HIV, eating disorders, and chronic disease.
Administrative Leadership: The Associate MedicalDirector will be responsible for administrative leadership of the primary and subspecialty adolescent medicine clinic, in collaboration with the MedicalDirector. Duties will include developing and refining clinical protocols, optimizing clinic flow and procedures, and developing and implementing quality improve projects. They may also serve as the administrative director of our HIV treatment and prevention program supporting multidisciplinary service provision to youth living with and at risk of HIV. They will assure program objectives and data are in accordance with our grant funders and with evidence-based care guidelines.
Teaching: Precepting adolescent medicine fellows, pediatric residents and Icahn School of Medicinemedical students in the outpatient setting at the Adolescent Health Center, as well as on serving as attending physician in the inpatient adolescent medicine consultation service at Kravis Children's Hospital of Mount Sinai Hospital.
