Responsibilities Lead assigned staff in performing medical and diagnostic imaging activities or tasks within assigned departments and/or functional areas. Ensure quality in imaging, patient care and workflow. Oversee equipment maintenance and trouble shooting. Monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy. Prepare, perform and assist the physician in special and advanced procedures. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department. Provide input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff. Serve as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. One or more of the following required: Certified Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education Qualifications Technical Degree or Diploma Radiology Experience Qualifications 1-3 years Rad Tech Skills and Abilities Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers. Demonstrated clinical competencies in radiography imaging equipment and procedures. Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred). Licenses and Certifications BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Supervision Provided by this Position There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other Associates. The incumbent will observe and instruct student technologists. Physical Demands The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
