POSITION SUMMARY This position functions in a support capacity for a variety of higher-level pharmacy technician duties that may, at other facilities, require multiple pharmacy technicians in specialty or Senior Acute Pharmacy Technician roles. Duties will include (where applicable) the maintenance of automated technology systems, 340b compliance, controlled substance monitoring, medication history retrieval, medication distribution and record keeping, ordering and procurement of medications, and charging/auditing medications, in addition to all other Acute Pharmacy Technician duties as required. Serves as a representative of the pharmacy department, interfacing with all other members of the healthcare team. Interacts and trains pharmacy staff, physicians, and nursing staff when necessary. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Provides support in the implementation, installation, maintenance and updating of technology systems related to pharmacy monitoring, compounding, repackaging, and distribution. Serves as a resource in interpreting reports, actively managing inventory, training staff, and ensuring appropriate use of technology related to medication compounding, repackaging, and distribution. 2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
