Primary Purpose
Our Management Trainee Program is designed to develop future leaders by providing hands-on experience in key areas of our business. This is a structured 6-month program that will offer broad exposure to the different facets of our organization and the opportunity to work on a high-impact capstone project. We offer two cohorts of management trainees annually, with one class starting in January and the other in June.
Program Structure
First 3 Months - Rotational Experience: During the first three months, trainees will rotate through critical departments to gain an understanding of the end-to-end operations and vertical integration of our business. Trainees will be exposed to:
Live Operations
Processing Operations
Sales, HR, Accounting, IT, Transportation, Procurement, and other support departments.
The goal is to provide a comprehensive view of how these departments interact and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Last 3 Months - Capstone Project: In the final three months, each trainee will focus on their specific functional area. They will be tasked with developing and executing a capstone project that addresses a key business challenge or opportunity within their department. This project will culminate in a presentation to senior leadership and executives, along with the next cohort of management trainees.
Post-Program Placement
After the 6-month program ends, trainees will be placed in available positions within their functional area. If no position is immediately available, the trainee will continue working in their current capacity until a suitable role becomes available. Sales Trainees will fill roles such as: Sales Representatives, Account Managers, Customer Success Specialists, and other related positions.

Our 12- month rotational Management Trainee Program provides recent graduates with a unique opportunity to explore every area of our business, from live operations, to production, to distribution, and everywhere in between. The rotations occur in 3 segments: Mount Olive, North Carolina (Processing Facility), Garner, North Carolina (Corporate Office), Huntsville, Arkansas (Processing Facility). The programs primary purpose is to grow future leaders by providing professional development and a series of assignments that align with professional interest within the processing and manufacturing industry.Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will be offered a leadership opportunity in one of our processing facilities.
What you'll do: At each program location, you'll rotate through all departments and business areas, gaining hands-on experience with the roles, equipment, and materials that power every stage of the production process. Network and form professional relationships with leaders and team members across our company through department rotations and leadership training. Observe and support daily operations to understand workflows, risks, potential challenges, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Actively participate in various leadership development sessions, such as leadership scenario training, presentation skills, systems training, etc. Track your own learning and development on a weekly cadence utilizing provided learning rotation journal. Learn and apply company policies on human safety, animal welfare, product quality and environmental regulations. May undertake and contribute to small-scale projects such as evaluating production data, providing continuous improvement feedback on current processes, assessing labor efficiency, etc.

Qualifications:
* Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Poultry, Animal Science, Food Science, or related field. (Expected to graduate between December 2025-May 2026).

Primary Purpose
As a Safety Intern at Mountaire Farms, you will gain hands-on experience in workplace safety and compliance within a dynamic food production environment. You will support key safety initiatives while conducting evaluations of critical processes. Projects will focus on identifying risks, strengthening compliance with OSHA standards, reviewing current onsite chemicals and corresponding Safety Data Sheets, and helping ensure a safe workplace for all employees.
Project Highlights
Conduct a review of chemical processes to evaluate handling, storage, and employee safety practices, as well as reviewing chemical Safety Data Sheets.
Assist in evaluating and updating Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring equipment safety standards are met.
Support Confined Space Hazard Assessments, learning how to identify risks and recommend control measures.
Participate in safety audits, inspections, and walkthroughs alongside plant safety professionals.
Collect and analyze safety data to identify trends and propose improvements.
Gain exposure to OSHA regulations, environmental health standards, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, operations, and HR) to promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. (Preferably in field of study: Occupational Safety and Health experience)
Valid Driver's license
Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word •
Work in a team environment, Self-Motivated and accepting of challenges and detail oriented
Internship Program Requirements
Complete assigned project identified by department mentor.
Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities.
Other duties as assigned.
All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 3 to 7, 2026).)
