MSS history

In 1979 MSS developed the ELPAC™ system which combined sophisticated metal detection with a unique air jet removal process.

MSS Products was also at the forefront in the late 1980’s and 90’s of the development of the outsourcing of component manufacturing by our established customer base.

During the CPC's 12th National Congress in 1982 Zhou Shaozheng was informed against by a bureau chief under the Central Taiwan Affairs Office, and was accused of moves against Premier Zhou Enlai during the latter's mourning period.

In June 1983 the National People's Congress, perceiving a growing threat of subversion and sabotage, established the Ministry of State Security under the State Council.

In 1984 the company proudly announced: MSS Goes Nationwide!

Jia Chunwang was appointed Minister of State Security in 1985, following the dismisal of Lin Yun.

In 1991 MSS developed the BottleSort® system, an automated system to debale, singulate and sort post consumer plastic containers.

In 1992 MSS developed the ELKE™, an optical system for separation of ceramic contaminates from glass cullet.

In 1993 MSS developed the VYDAR™, the world’s first system for removal of PVC from PET in the flake form.

In 1994 MSS developed the Glass ColorSort™ to sort glass cullet by color.

1996 – MSS moved its headquarters to Montgomeryville, PA.

1997 – MSS was rated one of the Greater Philadelphia Area's 100 Fastest Growing Companies, repeating this honor again for the next two years.

Since joining MSS in 1998, Maria has been instrumental in growing and developing the area of Customer Relations.

Since joining MSS in 1999, Dick has held a number of leadership roles in our organization, most notably Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations.

In 2001 MSS introduced the Aladdin™ optical sorter, an all-in-one NIR and color sorting module for sorting of plastic bottles by type and color from commingled container streams.

Sale of Metelec Ltd Following the disposal of MSS’s shares in Gindre, in 2002, as part of a significant restructuring of the MSS business, Metelec was sold to Gindre.

2003 – MSS won the world's largest relocation management company's award for Service Provider of the Year.

While growing up, Tim worked various summer jobs within MSS. He officially joined the company in 2004 after graduating college.

In 2005 MSS introduced the MultiWave™ optical sorter, an LED-based NIR and color sensing technology for the sorting of cardboard (brown and printed) as well as non-fiber contaminants from newspaper and mixed paper streams.

MSS India new headquarters With the growth in the Component demand from MSS Products in 2007 MSS India completed the construction of a new production and head office facility with the opening of a new 4,500 Sq Mtr building.

2008 – MSS Logistics Services division (now called Pure Install Solutions) was created to focus on service delivery outside the relocation industry.

2009 – The world’s largest relocation management company recognized MSS as the "Industry's Innovator," presenting the company with 24 innovation awards for a variety of initiatives that directly benefit our customers.

In 2010 MSS introduced the L-VIS™ optical sorter, a high-resolution color sorter for small particles, based on camera identification technology.

Since joining MSS in 2012, Jackie Reinhart has led our organization’s efforts in both Talent Management and Marketing.

2013 – MSS debuts new branding: Relocation Support Services | Precision Crating Services | Pure Install Solutions.

2014 – MSS once again became eligible for and was presented with AMSA’s Summit Award for supplier excellence for the second time.

In 2016, the L-VIS™ is reintroduced with ColorMask™ and WireHawk™ technologies.

2018 – MSS Products consolidates its position as the leading supplier in the UK of copper mill products with sales crossing an annual total of 5,000 tonnes for the first time
