What you will do This position performs electrical & instrumentation troubleshooting in a heavy industrial environment. Specific skills necessary include preventive maintenance on AC and DC motors including changing direction, inspecting, and testing brush gear and windings, troubleshooting, transformer ratings and overcurrent protection, connections for various transformers, calibration, proper repair, precision installation, successful start-up, and reliability of all related facility equipment. Instrument flow, level, pressure, temperatures. Hydraulic systems, analytical instrumentation, PID controls, loop tuning, open-loop and closed-loop control. Valves such as smart, solenoid, and pneumatic positioners. Control valves (application, sizing, and selection), actuators, and limit and position switches. Starting pay ranges between $35.48 and $43.45, depending on skill level. What you will need A commitment to safety and quality including personal protective equipment (hard hat, ear protection, steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses) and following all safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, etc.). Able to work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule, including overtime and holidays on a regular basis and with last-minute notification. Able to learn through self-directed study and desire for advancement. Able to work in an industrial environment including temperature extremes (warm/hot), dust and dirt, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, or elevated working surfaces (with proper safety training and safety protection). Able to attend work regularly with an excellent attendance record. Work both independently and in a team environment. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and climbing. Able to move wrists, hands, and/or fingers to turn valves and make adjustments to equipment. Able to climb ladders and work in high places. Maintain cooperative working relationships and demonstrate a positive attitude towards fellow employees and supervision. Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices and strong problem-solving skills. Basic mechanical ability to make adjustments to the equipment to maximize production and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded. Crane or hoist experience required Skid steerer operation preferred Able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance Able to read computer screens or other electronic devices. The general schedule is Monday through Friday 8-hour assignment; however must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally which may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
