Job Purpose
The Sales & Service Representative is responsible for delivering business-to-business customer service through the order process of pipe, valves, and fitting products (PVF). The Sales & Service Representative creates
and/or enters quotes, process customer orders, and resolves customer issues. The Sales & Service Representative plays a critical role in maximizing value for customers while driving MRC Global strategies for safety, gross margin growth, and financial/operational performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Respond to customer requests for quotes by sourcing products from the Company's existing inventory or purchasing them externally.
Build quotes that simultaneously create value for the customer and profitability for MRC Global.

Ability to proactively engage with customers and utilize product knowledge to make recommendations and offer add-on solutions that maximize customer delight and drive sales growth.
Utilize MRC Global systems/software to create quotes, locate available products/materials, process customers' orders, create vendor purchase orders (PO), and perform other tasks related to customer needs.
Adhere to customer contract requirements related to pricing/non-contract pricing, freight, delivery schedules, and KPIs.
Verify the on-time shipping/delivery status of pending inbound and outbound shipments.
Communicate status proactively with the customer and adjust product sourcing efforts if needed.
Proactively respond to customers' needs and concerns with options by using a problem-solving approach.
Validate that products specified in customers' quote requests are permitted per their respective approved manufacturer's list (AML) or other customer-provided specifications.
Reference customer processing guides and other tools/resources to maintain familiarity with customer preferences/processes.
Consult with a manager, other MRC Global departments, and suppliers as necessary to create the best possible customer experience.
Service next-level customer needs, including orders involving externally sourced labor, return material authorizations (RMA), purchase order changes, and orders involving special invoicing needs.
Communicate responsively and professionally with customers, suppliers, and coworkers to execute all main steps of the order process.
Required Experience
One (1) or more years' experience in a dedicated customer-facing role, inside sales, and/or warehouse services.
OR recent completion of post-secondary education to include any of the following: Technical/Trade School, associate degree, bachelor's degree, preferably with studies in industrial or sales.
Skills & Abilities
Competent in the use of computers and software applications.
Ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others.

Program Leadership & Direct Service
Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly after-school programming aligned with child development and state standards.
Provide direct supervision and engagement with children, ensuring safety and promoting social-emotional and academic growth.
Manage challenging behaviors and emergency situations, including communication with families and emergency personnel.

Provide formal and informal supervision to school-age group leads, including quarterly shadowing and documentation.
Recruit, hire, and train staff; monitor required training and credentialing.
Support staff in daily practice and professional development, modeling best practices and communication techniques.

Ensure the front desk/lobby areas remain clean, organized and ready to greet guests.
Verify and collect guest payments and identification, ensuring all procedures are followed to protect sensitive guest information including identity and credit card information. Process all financial transactions with strict adherence to defined procedures.
Operate the hotel key control system while strictly following all key safety & security procedures.
Answer the hotel phone in a manner which provides a genuine Best Western(BW) experience to every caller. Listen, identify and resolve the callers need(s). Properly and efficiently transfer calls as necessary. Route calls to guest rooms according to the companys policies which ensure sensitive guest information and privacy is maintained.
Provide a warm and friendly experience to potential guests inquiring about hotel reservations by focusing on the guests need, asking for the sale, entering and confirming the reservation details, providing the cancellation policy and offering to enroll the guest in the Returns program.
Complete shift checklist(s) to ensure the hotel information is updated and team members are prepared for the daily activities. Maintain room status inventory.
Stock and restock breakfast items such as food, drink and supplies as necessary to ensure guests have a consistent selection of items which are displayed in an appealing, clean and organized manner consistent with company standards, food handling guidelines and regulations. Ensure eating area is clean and inviting at all times.

Education, Experience & Ability Requirements

Strong knowledge of PVF products, reasoning, analytical, math, and reading skills.
Any combination of two or more years in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services in a position with increasing responsibility, to include demonstrated sales experience.
Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others.
Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the region regularly.
Valid Driver's License with the ability to meet the MRC Global vehicle policy.
