Summary:
The CT Tech operates computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. They prepare patients for the procedure, position patients with considerations for safety and image accuracy, ensure proper imaging protocols are followed, and work closely with radiologists to obtain high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. CT Techs also maintain equipment, keep patient records, and follow safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure and provide compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process.
Essential Work Functions:
Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately
Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
Provide high-quality images to Radiologist for interpretation
Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality
Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital's system
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
Ability to adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice
Required Essential Skills:

The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail

Summary:
The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Tech is responsible for assisting in electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized procedures within the EP lab. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, operating and troubleshooting EP lab equipment, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The EP Lab Tech plays a crucial role in supporting cardiac mapping, ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized cardiac interventions.
Essential Work Functions:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings accurately
Educate patients and families on electrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consent
Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations
Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physician orders
Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures
Identify and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow
Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans
Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Prepare treatment room prior to patient entering.
Identify patient using four (4) identifiers prior to any procedure/treatment.
Review and interpret patient chart throughout the course of radiation treatment.
Review and verify approved radiation prescription, treatment plan, MU check document, IMRT/VMAT QA, and setup information prior to clinical simulation and treatment.
Properly setup immobilization devices, position and align patient according to treatment plan and setup notes.
Monitor patient throughout treatment and take proper actions as needed.
Record pertinent treatment data in chart or verification system as per department policy.
Perform procedure in an orderly and confident manner. When assigned to work as a team of therapists, respond
appropriately to suggestions made during patient treatment.
Perform CT simulation as directed by Radiation Oncologist.
Attend departmental or inter-disciplinary meetings as requested.
Education, Certification and Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiation Therapy.
Current BLS certification.
Compliance with annual mandatory education.
Compliance with annual immunization requirements.
Experience:
No less than one (1) year of radiation therapy experience in a clinical setting.
Technical Competencies:

Senior CT Technologist - Providence Anchorage

Under the supervision of the CT Supervisor, Medical Director and Radiology Management Team, the Senior CT Technologist plans, directs and coordinates all technical activities performed in the CT Department. Responsibility for development and implementation of CT protocols to assure lowest possible dose (ALARA), consistent installation of protocols across all equipment to ensure the highest level of image quality. CT protocols are developed with the Medical Director for the division and are reviewed by a physicist to assure that radiation doses do not exceed those recommended by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This is also a float position where the Senior CT Technologist will work with leadership to help cover potential staffing needs in other departments.

Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
Coursework/Training: Certified as a CT Technologist.
Upon hire: National Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography, or
Upon hire: National Computed Tomography Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
2 years of Post CT Certification Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience as a CT Technologist.
1 year of leadership experience.
