Responsible to review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy. Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity. Takes steps to acquire additional information if needed from the patient, ordering provider and/or Radiologist.
Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides necessary medical history and information for Radiologist interpretation. Utilizes RIS for proper scheduling, billing and coding of procedures. Utilizes the web server/EA viewer and email system to send exams for preliminary readings to nighthawks after hours.
Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment and workplace environment including maintaining supply inventories and orderliness of work area. Recognizes malfunctions and service needs and reports service needs in a timely manner.
Assists in the instruction of students and new staff in the unit's operations as necessary.

The Dialysis Biomedical Equipment Technician is a paraprofessional who is specifically trained to oversee and maintain all dialysis-related equipment in the ambulatory outpatient dialysis unit and home dialysis unit. A Dialysis Biomedical Equipment Technician will also repair and perform preventative maintenance to ensure all systems are running properly. To become a technician, students need to earn a certificate from an approved licensed training program. The Dialysis Biomedical Equipment Technician must possess the physical capabilities to successfully perform the job as stated. Adherence to all policies and procedures is required.
Essential Functions:
Maintain all dialysis equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly
Have knowledge of the function and safe operation of all dialysis equipment
Collects samples for water cultures according to protocol.
Mixes bicarbonate solution according to protocol.
Mixes acid concentrate as directed.
Orders and stocks tech room with appropriate supplies.
Assists with purchasing as needed.
Assist in receiving, storing, and dispensing supplies.
Be familiar with the overall procedures used in Inventory Control.
Assist in the documentation and control of excess inventory.
In the absence of janitorial services, assist in general housekeeping services.
Transports waste products to biohazardous area.
Comply with the requirements of all applicable sections of the Technical Manual.
The type of work performed by the Biomedical Technician may require travel to other facilities and/or patient home during the workday. Therefore, the Biomedical Technician is expected to have their own reliable transportation. The Dialysis Center pays a mileage fee for on duty -time.
