Key Responsibilities
Perform MRI exams as ordered by physicians/providers in accordance with approved protocols
Establish IV access and administer contrast agents as ordered
Ensure exams are completed with technical accuracy and efficiency
Properly identify anatomical orientation on all images
Communicate pertinent exam findings to care teams promptly
Consult with professional staff regarding exam interpretation
Schedule patients for MRI procedures as needed
Assist with QA/QI initiatives related to the PACS system
Ensure accurate patient identification, documentation, charging, image labeling, and storage
Maintain compliance with departmental policies and procedures
Stay current with advancements and improvements in MRI technology
Provide age-appropriate, patient-centered care and education
Maintain a safe, secure, and respectful environment for patients and staff
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3-6 months of experience as an MRITechnologist
2-3 years of Siemens MRI experience (required)
Knowledge of MRI-related nursing practices, including emergency procedures, sterile technique, infection control, and CPR
Experience in academic or clinical healthcare settings
Strong problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to adapt and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
Education Requirements
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree
OR
Completion of an accredited hospital-based MRI training program with certificate
Certifications & Licensure (Required)
ARRT Registered Technologist - R.T.(R)
BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an MRITechnologist to join our imaging team at our University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN! This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work Monday through Friday during the day shift (typically 7AM - 3:30PM) with weekends as needed.
The MRITechnologist position provides services to patients and physicians by creating patient specific diagnostic images. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care supplies and equipment. This position will rotate through cardiology on an as-needed rotation.
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus that is prorated based on experience.
Responsibilities
* Performs examinations
* Identifies relevant data from images accurately
* Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
* Ensures patient safety and emergency preparedness
* Ensures proper film identification on all images
* Accurately completes computer functions-edits, status changes, logging
* Accurate film marking and jacket preparation
Required Qualifications
* ARRT Certification
* Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
* Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
* Additional education in Imaging or Healthcare
* 1 year of experience
* MRI Certification within 18 months of hire
* 1 or more year of experience in cardiac MRI
