Job Summary
Position Title: MRITechnologist
Job Summary: Our dedicated and compassionate team of Providers are looking for MRITechnologists to operate the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes while providing the best patient experience.
Responsibilities
Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts
Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
Assist radiologist with procedure performance
Perform Radiological procedures when not performing MRI Duties
Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions
Maintain accurate patient records
Provide education and training for new hire technologists
Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for MR procedures
Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
Qualifications
Associate degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.
Appropriate state licensure.
Proven experience working as an X-ray/MRI technician.
Ability to move or lift patients.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
A patient and compassionate disposition.
$55.00-$60.00 an hour

MRITechnologist
Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Hours/Days: Three days per week, 7am-8pm
Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)
Key Responsibilities
As an MRITechnologist at NYI, your responsibilities will include:
Maintain and adjust imaging equipment.
Calibrate MRI (MRA) consoles and peripheral hardware.
Operate injectors with proficiency.
Ensure patient safety using aseptic injection techniques and appropriate pre-screening.
Address patient concerns throughout the procedure.
Flush IV lines post-contrast injection.
Accurately follow physician orders for imaging areas.
Prepare patients for procedures, including medical history review and answering procedural questions.
Shield exposed areas of the body to protect the patient during imaging.
Attach physiological monitoring leads as necessary.
Provide headphones for patient comfort.
Properly position patients for imaging.
Maintain accurate patient medical records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
