What you will need:

What you will do:
Operates MRI equipment to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies, according to Radiologist's directions and established procedures. Positions patients administers injections of contrast media and manipulates images to ensure a high quality exam. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects to job, being attentive of eye contact, facial/body expressions and tone of voice. Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing all Special Procedure and Cath Lab procedures in accordance with department policy and procedure as well as IDNS regulatory standards. Ensures compliance with all IEMA regulatory standards as applicable to Radiology and Radiation Protection for patients and staff in area. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Performs all job duties and responsibilities of a Special Procedures and Cardiac Cath Technologist. Performs diagnostic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
Administers IV contrast media in accordance with department policy and procedure.
Ensures that proper sterile techniques are applied appropriately to prevent cross contamination.
Works directly with Radiologist in determining protocol for all special procedure imaging.
Works directly with Cardiologists to ensure proper coordination and delivery of Cardiac Cath Services.
Explains procedure to patient prior to procedure start. Provides patient and family with education for both pre and post procedure.
Observes patient for behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications. Notifies physician and Nurse with any status change.
Assists with the operation and handling of special equipment, monitors, and instruments.
Demonstrates the ability to work as a team membe, assists physicians and assists on all levels of patient care inside the Lab. This includes but not limited to circulator, scrub, transfers, patient escort, transportation of specimens to appropriate department, scheduling, ordering of supplies, etc.
Observes and documents patient data and procedure record throughout procedure with appropriate hemodynamics system. Records heart rate, BP, respirations, all pressures, O2 saturations, and EKG. Recognizes EKG rhythms and disrhythmia.
Ensures patient and own safety by following all applicable radiation protection measures and requirements. Maintains safety regulations to ensure maximum protection to patients, staff and employees of hospital.
Maintains QC on equipment. Responsible for operation and safety of all equipment. Reports all equipment problems in timely fashion.
Demonstrates effective business conduct through behavior/performance example and by following HCH Performance Standards.
Maintains patient confidentiality and follows all applicable HIPAA standards.
Maintains professional licensure and personal education through professional affiliations, meetings and educational seminars.
Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors as assigned or needed to ensure services are delivered and performed according to hospital policy and procedure as well as industry standards.

Job Description
The MRITechnologist will:
* Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to generate information necessary for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of patients.
* Evaluates the request for radiographic service and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol and method of application.
* Coordinates selection of appropriate scan parameters, including pulse sequences, by referring MRI protocols and/or the radiologist.
* Performs POC Creatinine testing prior to any contrast studies as warranted.
* Cares for the patient throughout the procedure according to department and hospital standards of nursing care and age-specific sensitivities guidelines.
* Participates in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
* Evaluates images for comparison with section and industry standards and takes corrective action as needed to achieve and maintain standards.
* Provides patient education prior to, during, and subsequent to the procedure.
* Documents imaging procedures to ensure correct charging, and patient and film file tracking.
* Monitors supply in imaging rooms to assure availability by reordering, rotating dated items, and maintaining an orderly environment.

Operation of any computer equipment needed to take MRI scan.

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Radiology and the technical direction of the Radiologists and the Lead MRITechnologist, performs professional duties as an MRITechnologist. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring special handling or unusual techniques to apply prescribed frequencies for Magnetic Resonance Imaging diagnoses in-patients ranging in age from infancy to geriatrics and encompassing the established factors. Manipulation of computer hardware and software required to create an adequate image. Maintain Magnetic Resonance Imaging services in accordance with standards established. Maintain the security and safety of the magnet.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operates the magnet properly and with care to ensure the production of a variety of quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations
* Performs MRI examinations in accordance with standards, techniques, and protocols established by the Radiologist to ensure quality standards are met.
* Positions and handles patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, tact, courtesy, patients, and safety.
* Maintains an awareness of patient's physical and emotional condition, recognizes and reports adverse signs to the physicians.
* Assures proper patient identification on all films and complete all paperwork applicable to the examination, i.e. clinical information, history, financial data, insurance data and technical worksheet data, accurately in the abs assists in screening and scheduling of patients.
* Performs office procedure of clerical support personnel and assists other technologists and clinical personnel as needed.
* Screens MRI patients to assure that the patient does not have metal implants, pacemakers, or other metallic objects on their person; calls and instructs patients, and registers patients as needed.
* Remains abreast of new developments in the field of MRI technology.
* Reports immediately any malfunctions, necessary adjustments or repairs to manufacturer's service engineer.
* Monitors and operates the laser imaging equipment.
* Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies in the MRI area.
* Has knowledge of patient care and emergency care procedures to maintain a safe environment.
* Responsible for entering charges and completing all exams performed.
* Transmits images and documentation to PACS.
Job Specifications:
* High School diploma or GED required.
* Satisfactory completion of an American Medical Association counsel on Medical Education approved School of Radiologic Technology and/or a program dealing specifically with Magnetic Resonance Imaging required.
* Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred.
* Prior Radiology or MRI experience preferred.
* Good oral/written communication skills.
* Ability to multitask.

Job Summary
Primarily performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams including basic cardiac procedures. Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement. Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and equipment as applicable. Job Duties:
Produces examinations that meet image quality standards while verifying patient information is accurate and completion of the exam with appropriate EPIC and PACS documentation/verification.
Communicates changes to the schedule due late arrivals, or potential issues that may arise throughout the day via Voalte or phone to all parties.
Provide proper coverage per need of the department; (ie call and holiday coverage, off-site coverage, adjustment of hours if needed, etc).
Ensures quality control procedures are performed, scanners are restarted, hard drive below 60% capacity, and image quality meets the departmental standards.
Actively participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Works closely with nurses, physicians, Radiologists, 3D Technologists and Anesthesiologist to achieve positive outcomes and optimal patient flow while maintaining an efficient workflow.
Abides by, and maintains a working knowledge of, both institutional policy and accreditation procedures/policies that the department or organization is accredited by.
Performance of variety of exams are monitored biannually.
Other job functions as assigned (ie assistance with scheduling, protocol development/build, transfer of images, scheduling help, research support, etc)
MRITechnologist Essential Job Functions:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) eligible in MR. Must complete within 1 year of employment. Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Minimum 1 year MR imaging experience preferred; hospital setting bonus.
Ability to perform all basic MRI imaging procedures according to department standard in a timely and efficient manner.
Adheres to MR safety procedures as described in the MR safety program.
Participation, education, and dedication in all imaging procedure that are clinical, and research needed.
Manages their assigned scanner efficiently and productively by following the appointments that are scheduled and protocol guidelines.
Evaluation of scanners in advance and verification of implant clearance and protocol/exam correction prior to patient arrival.
